It had been at least fifteen minutes when all the sudden Odori heard shouting coming from the separate locker room for boys. "What do you mean?! I could beat you any day!" Obviously it was Bakugou. What are the boy's doing here? Odori thought to herself. "Oh no." All of the boy's from 1A came out of the locker room. "This requires a competition!" Iida exclaimed. "Great." Odori mumbled to herself. "The silence was so nice." She got up out of the pool and sat on a beach chair near the side. She watched as all the boys argued. "Come on guys do we have to make everything a competition?" Kirishima asked, trying to keep the heat from getting worse. "Oh shut up shitty hair!" Bakugou hissed. "I can, and will beat you Bakugou." Todoroki said back, not seeming to care about Kirishima at all. "Try me Icy-Hot!" The two boys kept fighting and shouting till finally they decided on a contest. They were going to see who could swim across the pool the fastest. Maire came and sat down next to Odori. "You think this is stupid too right?" Odori asked, watching the boys stretch. "Definitely." Maire agreed, chuckling lightly. "So who do you think is going to win?" She asked. Iida put his hands in the air "I don't know, but it won't be Mineta. That's all I know." "Are you ready?" Ida shouted. Mineta, Tokoyami, Koda, Bakugou, and Kaminari lined up on the side of the pool. Ida brought his arms down and shouted, "GO!" The five darted. To everyone's surprise (except Maire and Odori) Bakugou won. He had used his quirk to fly right over the water about as fast as a bullet. "That's not fair! You barely even touched the water!" One of the kids shouted. Bakugou smirked and walked away. "Okay, usually I'd be fine with him doing something like that, but even I don't think that's fair!" Odori said, partially frustrated. Odori looked at Maire. "What do you mean?" "'Even I don't think that's fair'?" Maire said, looking at Odori with questioning eyes. Odori started to panic, and Maire could easily see it. "Oh, uh, nothing." Odori kept a strand of hair from getting in her eyes and tucked it behind her ear, blushing lightly. Maire gasped. "You're keeping something from me aren't you?" Maire said. Odori sat up, laughing nervously. "No that's not true!!" She exclaimed, scratching the back of her head. "Uh huh. What is it?" Maire asked, raising one eyebrow while smiling. "Nothing I swear! You're being irrational." Odori said, reaching for her towel. "Oh, you know that's not true." Maire said, now brushing her chin with her finger. She thought hard, looking over Odori and trying to find a clue to exactly what she was so flustered about. Then it hit her, Odori was blushing bright red as Bakugou walked by. Maire gasped as a realization came over her. "You like him?!" Maire shouted, catching Bakugou's attention. "Oh shut up!! I don't like anyone!" Odori argued back, blushing brightly. Maire looked at Odori, then at Bakugou and grinned knowingly. "Uh huh, sureee." Maire said in a sarcastic tone. Odori turned her head away, and saw the other girls playing with a beachball in the pool. "Why don't we go over there with the others?" Odori said, trying to change the subject. "But, I thought you wanted to hang out with your crush." Maire replied with a pout, further aggravating Odori. "SHUT UP! I DON'T LIKE BAKUGOU!!" Odori shouted face even more red from anger, drawing the attention of almost every eye at the pool. Bakugou turned to look towards the two girls, chuckling lightly when he saw her blushing face. He started walking towards them, gently brushing his hand against Odori's, making her blush deepen. "Did someone say that they liked me?" Bakugou asked playfully. Odori glared at Maire with a rage that could've made a lion run away in fear. She refused to look Bakugou in the eyes, even when he rested his arm on her shoulder. Maire tried to hold in her giggles, but failed as laughter spilled out of her mouth. She laughed so hard that tears started forming in the corners of her eyes. It had been months since Maire laughed like that. Ever since... the incident, she had been severely depressed and was finding it harder to be herself. Odori got calls from her more than 6 times a day, some of them came very late at night. Whenever Odori would answer them, she would hear Maire's sobs and her cries for help. Once, she got a call from Maire's mother to hear her begging for Odori to come to their house because it had been a week since Maire had last eaten, her depression eating away at her once optimistic self. It took a lot of hard work to get Maire out of her room and eating again, but it was worth it. Every moment that Odori could see her smiling or laughing was a gift from heaven. "Odori? Hey are you there?" Maire asked, waving her hand in front of Odori's face. "Huh? Oh, yeah." Odori said, brushing Maire's hand away from her face. She noticed Bakugou standing almost directly next to her and jerked away, her face turning red again. "Uh, I gotta go!" Odori said, turning to run back to the locker rooms to change. "Hey! Wait for me!" Maire squeaked, racing after Odori. "Hey! No running around the pool!" Ida yelled, chasing after them while chopping the air. Bakugou watched as the two girls raced to the locker rooms laughing at each other. A smile drifted onto his face as his heart felt warm and whole again, something that he had not felt in a long time. "Hey Bakubro, how about me and you go for another race with Todobro?" Kirishima suggested once the two girls ran out of sight. Bakugou turned around with a determined look on his face. "Oh, you're on shitty hair." Bakugou responded.
