"If you really want to be a hero so badly, there just might be another way. Just pray that you get a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof of the building" Bakugou remarked after burning Deku's hero analysis notebook and throwing it out of the window. As Midoriya left the classroom for lunch, he thought about what Bakugou had said to him. Kacchan's right, maybe... no, I can be a hero! Deku thought. He went up to the roof to eat lunch alone like he usually did. He was usually alone these days, it honestly made him question if anyone else cared about him. Deku had been struggling with depression for a couple years now and he was finding it harder and harder to be genuinely happy about things. Nowadays, most of his smiles were faked and his laughs were forced. Maybe Kacchan was right, maybe he should just jump. As he stood up and slowly walked towards the roof's edge, his rebellious thoughts were quieted and his emotions left him. He began to feel numb as an emptiness filled the spaces once taken up by his emotions and passions. His common sense was screaming at him to sit down and to not take one more step towards the roof's edge. This usually would've stopped him from doing anything stupid, but he couldn't hear it this time. All he heard was the breeze blowing past his ears and the birds chirping in the sky. Nothing could stop him from jumping, not even All Might.
