Unpierceable Love

Chapter 23

At precisely quarter to nine, Gino arrived at his new workplace to take on his new role as a personal assistant of one of the most sought-after eligible bachelors in the whole country is a very pressuring job, not to mention that he has zero experience in being someone's assistant.

Valerio is a man who holds himself in an upright, vivid and sharp position making him the perfect candidate for men and women who likes to throw themselves at him.

Looking at the tall building, Gino walked through the automatic sliding door. Once he entered, a tall, buff man standing to his left wearing a security guard uniform acknowledged his entrance by nodding his head at Gino.

Entering the extravagant lobby, Gino walked towards the reception. Two beautiful women in their late twenties turned their attention to him, but a familiar voice called Gino's name before a word could be said.

Turning his head, Gino could see Xander exiting from one of the elevators and approaching him.

"Ladies, good morning," flirted Xander, who winked at them once he was standing opposite Gino.

The two women giggled but did not reply, returning to work and leaving Xander to speak to Gino.

"Val asked me to escort you to the meeting room when you arrived."

"Alright"

"Great, let's go. The meeting should be starting very soon."

Following Xander, Gino entered the same elevator the man had just exited. Seeing that no one else was getting on despite people waiting for the elevator, Gino turned to Xander. Who had answered his unspoken question?

"This is Val's private elevator the only ones that have access to this elevator are Valerio and me."

Gino listens to Xander's explanation, thinking about the absurd idea; it is only an elevator. Why is there a need to only be used by two people, thought Gino. Once again not voicing his thoughts out loud.

Seeing the surprised face of the other male, Xander suppressed his laughter, not wanting to offend his boss. Seeing how Gino looked, Xander could guess what the other was thinking again. Valerio is indeed a selfish person having a full elevator to use by himself.

When Gino arrived, Valerio had already started the meeting because Gino could enter the room without notice. Standing in the corner, Gino listens to the melodic voice of the man standing at the front of the room.

The more Gino watched, the more he could see how attractive, handsome and powerful Valerio was. How could this man with everything he wanted be with a nobody like him?

They are both from different worlds.

What will the future hold for them?

Can he have the life he always wished for, or will it end badly?

These questions roamed Gino's mind, making him unaware of what had been said. It wasn't until he felt a slight nudge from beside him did Gino looked up only to have all eyes on him. Gino looked up towards the front and saw Valerio looking at him intensely.

With a gulp, Gino saw the moment Valerio lifted his hand. Using his index finger, he motioned for Gino to join him at the front. Moving from the corner, Gino slowly walked from where he stood and approached Valerio. The lively room suddenly became quiet as everyone watched their boss and the newcomer interact.

Stopping at a reasonable distance from Valerio but close enough to smell the other man's scent, the following words from Valerio's mouth made Gino's heart pound loudly inside his chest.

"I would like to introduce everyone to Gino, my new personal assistant and love interest. Treat him as you would treat me; respect him as you would respect me. With that, this meeting is dismissed."

The once quiet room was now loud and rowdy, with people speaking to one another while others tried to leave the meeting room.

Almost everyone exiting the room turned their heads to look at their boss's new love toy. Some gave genuine smiles to the couple, while others sneered in disgust but quickly covered their actions realizing how scary their boss was.

Once the room was quiet, Gino whirled around, facing Valerio before stammering out a few words.

"You...You how could you..?"

"You are a part of my life now. Sooner or later, everyone will eventually find out either by gossip or other means of communication; I am just doing them a favour by putting their suspicion to rest."

"But.."

"It is time to get to work. We are behind schedule," said Valerio cutting the more petite man off. Grabbing hold of Gino's, Valerio led them out of the conference room and into his office.
