Rain poured down from above; dark clouds covered the vast sky as people and animals scattered to find shelter; like a mother knowing her child was in pain, Mother Nature delivered rain to help wash away one's sorrow.

While everyone was finding shelter, one lonely soul wanders with no destination. Cherry walked in the dark, quiet street; her appearance now was nothing like the person she was before. This was the same person that had everything just by a snap of their finger.

Not knowing how long she had been walking, Cherry's dull, soulless eyes landed on an empty bench and approached the vacant seat.

Not long after she had sat down, Cherry realised that the rain was no longer soaking her, yet the seat next to her was still getting wet from the heavy rain.

Looking up, Cherry saw the one person she did not want to see, standing in the pouring rain, holding an umbrella big enough for both of them; this was the last person she wanted to see.

Her mate.

"How long are you going to be like this?"

"It is none of your concern how I am", answered Cherry quietly.

"Tch, not my concern, a man whose mate is out lusting after another while getting her heartbroken, a mate whose drowning in sorrow because of rejection. After everything we've been through, why are you still pushing me away? What does he have that I don't."

Standing up from her spot Cherry knocked on the hand holding the umbrella that was sheltering her from the rain, where it continued to hit her face before replying.

"Yes, I'm not a good mate. I never wanted to have a mate like you, you may have forced yourself on me, but you will never have my heart. Do you understand, you will never have my heart even if you bring me the richest of the world; you could never compare to him."

Looking at the woman before him, the man sighed before replying."Right now, the only one that can give you what you want is me. Like it or not, I am the only one that can bring you happiness."

Cherry looked at her mate with confusion before saying,

"What do you mean? What are you going to do."Moving closer to his mate, the man lifted his hand and moved a piece of hair stuck to Cherry's cheeks before saying.

"I can give you the one thing your heart desires the most."

Looking up at her mate Cherry could see a dark, sinister smile on his handsome devilish face.

Gino closed the book he had been reading and placed it on the bedside table as the door opened to his and Valerio's room. A huge smile was revealed on Gino's face once he saw the person that had entered.

Valerio entered the room holding a silver tray; while he closed the door with his free hand, a bright smile came across his handsome face when his eyes connected with the person on the bed.

"Mmm, smells good; what is it," asked Gino getting out of bed and walking towards Valerio, who had just placed the tray on the small rectangular table.

Valerio gently turned towards Gino, grabbed his tiny hands and indicated that he could sit on the sofa before answering.

"This was the first dish I attempted to make; at that time, I had just lost my home to hunters and had to relocate, but no matter where I went, it never felt like it was the right place for someone like me to be, that is until I found this small island, it was big enough for Connasdaim to spread his wings and close enough to civilisation making it easier for me to do normal human things." Explain to Valerio while picking up the knife and fork and cutting into the meat.

Valerio then indicated for Gino to open his mouth as he delivered the tender meat to Gino's surprised face; after holding the meat in mid-air for a few seconds, Gino still didn't show any indication of opening his mouth; only then did Valerio speak again.

"You are still recovering; let me feed you here; open your mouth, ahh."

Seeing the silly face Valerio was making, Gino let out a small chuckle and opened his mouth the moment his tongue touched the meat; Gino let out a moan while savouring the flavour of the juicy meat.

Valerio continues to feed Gino until he shooked his head at Valerio before saying.

"Please, no more if you keep feeding me. I'm afraid that my stomach will pop open."

Valerio put down the fork with meat on it back on the plate; barely a quarter of the food had been eaten.

"You've eaten so little; how will you get better if you only eat that much?"

Gino did not answer, only vaguely smiling at Valerio.Ever since Valerio met his beloved, he realised there were many things he still did not know about his mate.

With a sigh, Valerio turned his head to see Gino leaning back on the sofa with his eyes closed, his small face slightly flushed. At this precise moment, Valerio knew he also needed to tame his hunger.

Leaning his head towards Gino, Valerio pecked the more petite man's mouth, instantly getting a reaction from Gino.

Opening his eyes, Gino opened his mouth to speak but was stopped by Valerio's words.
"Sweet, beautiful thing, you truly are a gift from the heavens. I thought I was destined to live without a fated one, but you have been more than what I could ask for. But every man has his needs, and I hope we can bring our happiness to new heights tonight." Said Valerio kissing Gino's slightly parted lips.

Once warm lips touched his own, Gino's pupils dilated, his heart beating loudly. Valerio's hands made their way behind Gino's head, deepening the kiss; it was only when they both needed air did Valerio withdraw.

Gino had never been kissed the way Valerio kissed him moments ago. That was his first kiss; even after Valerio withdrew, Gino could still feel the tingling sensation of the kiss on his lips. He gently touched his lips before looking into the man's hungry eyes that were looking back down at him.
