Aang POV
It was now Monday and that meant I have to go to school. Katara and I may be friends again, but it was gonna be really awkward. So I decided that I'm just going to try and be aloof. I wasn't gonna draw to much attention to myself to get her to notice me.
I arrived at school and made my way inside. I saw Katara talking with Sokka, but I didn't approach them. I just went to my class and sat down. Azula was in this class so she greeted me. I said hello back to her and we both talked for a while until class started. Soon, Katara walked in and I glanced and gave her a smile smile. We both said Hi to each other and we went about our business. I wanted to say more to her, but it didn't feel like the right time.
School had finished and I decided to head home. Once I opened the door, I saw a note on the table from Gyatso. On the table was 2 tickets to a baseball game. The note said that I could take a friend to go and watch the game on Friday.
Internally I was super excited because I hadn't gone to a baseball game all season. But that excitement turned into nervousness as I realized I had to ask someone to go with me. There weren't a lot of options to choose from. The only people I could think of that would want to go would be Azula, Sokka, Zuko... or Katara. So I decided to ask each one of them individually. Azula said she was gonna be out of town, Sokka was gonna be on a date with Suki, and Zuko said he didn't like baseball.
So that left Katara. I nervously picked up my phone to call her. It rang for a couple seconds before she picked up.
"Hey Aang. What's up?" She asked
"Hey Katara, I wanted to ask you a question." I said
"What is it Aang?" She wondered
"Well I have 2 tickets for a baseball game this Friday... and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me..." I said
She took a while to respond
"Yes, I would love to" she answered.
"Great, it's a date... oops I mean not that kinda date-"
I blurted out as she responded
"Aang it's ok, I know you didn't mean it like that" she said with what seemed like a hint of sadness.
"Oh...ok. I'll pick you up on Friday" I said
"Awesome. I can't wait for it." She replied
