You're Awake!

Aang POV

I slowly opened my eyes and got accustomed to my surroundings. I was in the hospital for some reason. I tried to sit up but there was a sharp pain when I did. I winced and groaned quietly.

Well not too quietly I guess. Short after, I heard Katara talk.

"Aang! You're awake!" She said relieved.

"What happened?" I asked

"Well... you sorta got stabbed, so me and Azula rushed you to the hospital." She replied.

All of a sudden, all the memories of the recent events popped into my mind. Now everything made sense

I could see the dark circles in her eyes.
"You look tired Katara" I said

"Oh, I'm fine, I'm more worried about you though." She answered.

"How long was I out for?" I asked

"...4 days" she said nervously.

"Wait... have you stayed here the whole time? I thought you left after the first night?" I asked.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay... and why do you remember the first night in the hospital?" She asked

I blushed at her question because I knew what she was talking about.
"I remember because it was the first time I held your hand in a while..." I said while looking away.

Katara blushed when I answered, I guess she wasn't expecting that answer.

Katara POV.

There was an awkward silence for a couple of minutes before I decided that I needed to lay everything out on the table.

"Aang... Azula told me about what your feelings were..." I said timidly.

Aang perked up when he heard this.

"What did she say?" He asked

"She... she said that you still have feelings for me... but you're afraid of getting hurt again" I said.

"Oh... I guess... that's ... true" he replied.

"Aang I just want you to know that not a day has gone by where I don't beat myself up for what I did to you at that party. I have never regretted anything more than what I did then. And knowing that I caused you so much pain... it makes me really sad... so what I'm saying is... I'm sorry for breaking your heart... and if you ever find it within yourself to want to be in a relationship with me again... I'll be right here waiting for you... because I love you Aang" I said.

Aang seemed lost in thought, so I didn't want to interrupt him. I got up and was about to walk out the room, but then he spoke.

"I love you too Katara"
