"Shit, shit, shit." I mutter to myself, realizing the nap I had taken in preparation to drive in the dead of night took a bit longer than expected.
The air surrounding the humid atmosphere outside was one of my least favourite kinds of weather. The sound of rain was better; top tier - cuddling in freshly washed sheets as I listen to the gentle patters outside of my window.
In a way, my life since Asahi entered it reminded me a bit of rain. One minute its curling up on the couch as I watch a cheesy rom-com, and the next its being stuck outside in a thunderstorm.
Theres no way of escaping it, and although I can spot a storeowner sitting by the register, he pretends he cant hear me frantically pounding at the shop window as the cold droplets beat down on me, harder and harder.
And so I'm left in the rain for my hair to flatten, my body to run cold, and my heart to start freezing back up again as soon as it had thawed in the warm sunlight after the storm that is Asahi Azumane.
I styled my hair out of my face and pulled on clothes that wouldn't make me overheat in the car. My makeup would melt off during the car ride back, and so there was no point in maneuvering an eye pencil over my lids that would soon be brimming with tears.
Heading out now, Ill be kidnapping you in two minutes :p
I playfully texted him as I plugged my charger into the port near the glove compartment.
Taking a deep breath in, I pull out of the driveway and watch the lights that illuminate the street. This time of night, my brain convinces me to feel all the more sentimental. No music was played, I instead took time to prepare for the possibly awkward car ride to the airport.

"Hello, y/n!" his mother calls out to me as she hobbles over for a hug. "Thank you again for agreeing to drive him. Hes been nervous to see you this whole time, its annoying!" she whisper yelled to me and we both broke out in a chorus of giggles as Asahi finished packing his toothbrush and checking over his things one last time.
As he heard her tittering laughter, he thought 'How could I go months without hearing that noise?'. He hauls his bags down the stairs as his gaze wandered down to her sitting on the couch, casually speaking with his mom about her injured ankle as though she had known her for years. The both of them found some kind of sick happiness from messing with him. Yet he couldn't stay mad at her for long, he knew that much.
"Do you need some help?" I asked as I saw him lugging his bags down the stairs, looking deep in thought.
"No, its alright, this is the last bag." he smiles as he drops it by the large suitcase near the door.
