"Come on y/n, you can't just stand there forever." Yachi snickered as she dragged me up the driveway.
"I don't think anyone from Fukurodani would remember me anyways, but its still nerve-racking knowing people you left behind would catch back up to you again." I sighed as I trudged up the pavement. After gently knocking on the door, it opens up revealing a distraught Suga.
"Are you okay?" asked Kiyoko.
"Yup, Asahis just busy getting ready." Suga winks at me.
Oh, how I wished Asahi just straight up told me if he felt anything for me. The innocent teasing and blushing over the past week was confusing. In the midst of my thoughts, Daichi seems to be dragging down a flustered Asahi, wearing a loose long sleeved black turtleneck, and practically the same baggy corduroy pants as me. Everyone in the room looked back and forth between me and Asahi, waiting to see if they had to jokingly call an ambulance.
Just as he was about to dart back up the stairs, we all whip our heads around to a excited knock on the door.
Nekoma was the first to arrive. The other third years walk up to a few people I recognize from a previous practice match, starting friendly conversation.
"I guess we're matching huh?" I try conversing with Asahi, looking up at him waiting for a response.
"Yeah, I guess. I think I should quickly go change." he responds with a light smile and walks up back to his room, coming out a few minutes later wearing loose jeans and a fitted black shirt. How could I be mad at him when his broad back was on better display for me to gawk at?
"He does clean up well huh?" Kiyoko teasingly whispers to me.
"Oh shut up." I playfully snapped back.
I were having good conversation with the other managers once Asahi joined the other third years. While I was immersing myself in smalltalk, aka, Yachi gushing about her newfound crush on Yamaguchi and the other girls telling her to go for it, yet another large flow of volleyball players come through the front door. I take a deep breath, recognizing a few other Karasuno members along with my old classmates from Fukurodani.
"Asa-kun!" a short girl with perfectly straight, long, platinum blonde hair yelled at Karasuno's ace. There she was throwing herself on the confused boy.
Yuki was one of my so called 'rivals' back at Fukurodani. She was always jealous of me, trying her hardest to take my spot at the top of the class. She had always tried pushing my buttons, seeing what might give her an edge, which was always very confusing to me as she had everything anyone could ever want; intellect, good friendships, beauty. We were basically polar opposites.
Yuki's 'competition' with me was also definitely a one sided rivalry, as I had never overworked myself for the sole purpose of beating Yuki. I overworked myself for my own reasons, none of them ever having to do with her.
The managers had picked up on my anxiety after seeing the small girl squeezing Asahi in a tight hug, just as confused as me because they had never expected the two of them to be that close.
"Hey, y/n? Did you know about them?" A perplexed Yachi whispered to me.
"No idea," I murmured back in her ear, "who would've thought that the only person who hates me had to be here."
"She hates you?" Yachi replied with raised eyebrows.
"She always tried to mess with me so I'd slip up and she could take the #1 spot in class. I never really paid attention to it, but she can get really annoying at times." I giggle after seeing Asahi stare at Suga and Daichi, practically begging them for help.
