"You know I don't like lying to dad!" Taehyung says as the pair walk up the stairs. They ate dinner and had small conversations about their day but then Namjoon had to go because he had to answer a business call and the boys retreated upstairs to get ready for bed.
"Technically it wasn't a lie!"
"Yeah but we didn't tell him the whole reason." Taehyung argues, pouting as he did so. He wasn't completely angry with his brother but just wanted to complain about the stuff they had to lie about sometimes.
"Taeeeeeee... what was I suppose to do!? Tell him that we were secretly spying on a boy after school and we lost track of time because of that?" Jimin says sarcastically as he flopped down onto his bed.
Taehyung looks at his brother and sighs. "No....but I still don't like it..."
Jimin walks up to the slouching boy and hugs him. "Mhmm sorry Taehyungie, I made you do something you don't like."
Taehyung sighs again and hugs him back.
The duo cared for each other immensely. The relationship they had as siblings was very odd to some people because they were always touchy but that's how they were. Obviously they fought but at the end of the day the two brothers have so much love for each other that it was scary to not forgive each other. They would inevitably just make-up again.
"Do you think I'd ever get a boyfriend?" Jimin asks, his voice muffled into his brothers chest.
Taehyung caresses the shorter's hair. "I don't know, would dad even be okay with that?"
"The fact that I'm gay or the fact that I'm crushing on a boy from a public school."
"Probably both. I don't know. He's been dating that talkative lady for a while now. But if anything he'll surely not like it. You know how he gets sometimes. He got stressed cause we came late!" Jimin nods at his brother's words.
He lets out an aggravated sigh. "I'll be lonely forever!" Taehyung laughs at his overly dramatic sibling. "Shut up, no you won't."
"I'll always be here for you, grey hair, 16 cats and all." Jimin chuckles as his brother's attempt at making him smile.
"I will, plus you saw him, he was way out of my league!"
"You don't know that, maybe under that mint mess is a nice person."
Jimin pushes his brother away and pouts. "Meanie. You're evil!"
"Tell you what, I'll be the flower boy at your wedding!" Taehyung says cheekily.
Jimin lunges a pillow at him making Taehyung block and run out of the room laughing.
The silver haired boy lays down onto his bed again. He thought about how a relationship with that mystery boy would even play out. He'd never even spoken to him. Doesn't know anything about him, not even what his voice sounds like. He hoped he was nice.
The fact that he was gay had always been something he knew. He figured it out at the age of 13 when he noticed an increasing obsession with boys in Korean and thai dramas to the point of watching only the 'boy love' themed ones.
He came out to his brother about it and Taehyung didn't even bat an eye. His father however, Jimin didn't know how it would sit with him. He was a decent man enough. Jimin didn't know how he'd react to this kind of news. He doesn't remember a time when the man said something remotely homophobic but he couldn't guarantee his blessing or anything. That aside, the fact that he would practically ever meet the boy was even more of a long shot.
That part about his father he didn't know much about. He didn't bother asking as well. He believed he would somehow be okay with it. Hopefully.
But rationally as a teen, the silver haired could just hope. Maybe things would change. Their father was strict in some ways. He was overprotective and because of this, Jimin and Taehyung were always secluded and inside. They hardly hung out with people and the only friends Namjoon permitted was their close friend; Hoseok. That was only cause Namjoon knew the boy's parents. Friends never came to the house either. And it wasn't because of the lack of space. They practically lived in a mansion, Namjoon just didn't permit it.
Jimin sighs in defeat. He gets up, goes to do his nightly routine, then heads to his brother's room to say goodnight. Taehyung was still up doing some homework while listening to music. He bid his goodnight and headed down to his dad's office and knocks. He can vaguely hear talking from the other side signalling that his father was on a call.
He peers his head in slowly and sees his dad with a small head set in his ear taking a call. The man was talking about work as per usual. Jimin waves slightly to try and get his attention. He spots the boy and gives a questioning look. Jimin smiles and waves him off, that was sort of like a code for goodnight between the two of them. Namjoon waves back still talking on the phone and goes back to his work.
He retreats to his room and lays under his covers.
"Tomorrow will be better." He tries to convince himself. But underlining that thought also is also the voice that whispers "Yeah, but it might me worse."
