The next day, Jimin makes it through his classes without trouble, the crippling anxiety of seeing Mingi at practice was weighing him down slightly.
He didn't get around to sending Mingi back a text and it played on his subconscious. Although the boy said he would wait for his answer and encouraged Jimin to take his time, that still doesn't help.
He travels the ways down the hallway to his locker to get his bag, quickly switching out the books he needed and didn't and getting his duffle bag.
"Jimin! Hey!"
The boy turns around only to be met with a member from his dance class. "Hey Lucas."
The latter smiles and waves. "Hey I just wanted to let you know that practice got cancelled today. Madame Marie has to take care of some stuff. She opened the studio though and said we're free to use it if we want." And with that he takes his leave. The silver haired boy sighs and places his duffle bag back in his locker.
At least he didn't have to confront Mingi until tomorrow now. Truthfully it was quite terrifying. Jimin didn't expect this kind of a thing to happen so suddenly and spontaneously but it has. For a brief moment everything is quite dramatic. And to think that this all started to with just a small crush from a boy he didn't even know.
It led the male to think about whether things were finally picking up and changing. The party they went to behind their father's back was risky and quite bold, he doesn't even know how he managed to even pull that off. He was terrified the whole time but a shred of his thoughts convinced him that it was also alright.
"You're going to walk into a wall, you know." A voice says startling the boy as he walks through the hallway.
"Mingi! You scared me..."
The boy dashes an excited smile and apologises.
"Whatcha thinking about? Me?" He says cockily then laughing shortly after. Jimin chuckles at the comment. "Just stuff." He was slightly nervous to be around Mingi, mostly cause he still hadn't thought of what to say yet.
They walk alongside one another in an awkward silence until they make it to the main doors of the school. "So... I was wondering if, you know, since practice got cancelled you'd want to go get something to eat."
"Oh, um. Now?"
Mingi chuckles. "Yeah, are you busy?"
The silver haired thinks for a second. "No, but I- my brother's still at his club meeting."
"You wanna go tell him? I'll walk you."
Mingi didn't seem to be acting odd or demanding an immediate answer which Jimin was happy about. Maybe it wasn't all that bad and worth giving it a shot. They cross the small compound to the other building to where Taehyung's club classroom was.
Taehyung was sitting on a table looking straight forward, conversing and laughing with some members of the club, upon spotting his brother at the door he walks over with a smile.
"Hey, why are yo- oh." He starts but stops.
"Hey Taehyung!" Mingi says with a smile. Taehyung hesitantly nods back acknowledging his greeting but pulling an odd face at his brother.
"Um, practice was cancelled today so-"
"Oh, really? You wanna head home earlier? I can tell the guys." Taehyung answers, gesturing to the back of the class with his thumb.
Before Jimin has the chance to answer, Mingi steps in unexpectedly. "Actually Tae, that's fine. Jimin and I are gonna get something to eat, I'll give him a ride home later." Jimin's body shrinks from the slight embarrassment. Mingi basically certified their spontaneous date, and very confidently at that too.
