Chapter Fifteen
I was still holding back a ridiculous amount of tears when I finally arrived back at my home, an hour later.
Just my luck, the weather had decided to be completely against me and so during my journey home, I had been utterly drenched when the heavens opened.
My back was dripping wet and my hair was causing droplets to fall onto the floor, leaving a trail as I ascended the stairs.
My chest was hurting and my eyes were stinging due to the fact I needed to cry so much.
But I kept them locked up deep inside of me, determined not to let anyone get to me.
Especially my brother and his pathetic group of friends.
Its hardly their fault I wasn't worth being friends with. They cant help that I'm an embarrassment to be with.
I threw my uniform off and jumped into the shower, determined to not cry.
I grabbed the towels and spare clothes when I'd finished and towel dried my hair, my mood turning sour as I heard the door bell ring.
I stood confused as to who could be at the door and assumed it was Grace or my mother when they continued to ring it repeatedly.
I descended the stairs, my body warming up as I enveloped myself in a baggy jumper and leggings, my wet hair tied in a mess on my head.
"Grace I'm sorry but I'm not-" I stopped speaking as soon as the door was opened completely and stared at the figure standing on my porch step.
I blinked twice.
"Tristan what the hell are you doing here?" I asked, forgetting I was in a mood with all of the band as confusion just took over my whole being.
He rubbed his hand down the back of his neck as if his next words bothered him to say.
"I had to check that you were okay..." he looked down again and the back at my face, "You rushed off, I had to make sure.." his voice trailed off pathetically and I stared at him, my mouth open in shock.
Was Tristan Evans actually showing some sort of emotion toward me?
I stood in shock.
I knew I had every right to be annoyed at him.
After all, he'd never protested to me being left alone whilst he went out and enjoyed himself.
None of them had said anything.
Only now had he decided to return, probably hoping I'd say I was fine so he could be on his way again.
To heal is guilty conscience.
My confusion turned back to anger within a second.
"Oh yes I am perfectly fine Tristan, you be on your merry way, we don't want your friends to think you actually spoke to me for more than three seconds!" I went to slam the door in his face, angry tears brimming at the edge of my eyes but he stuck his foot in the way before I could do it.
Crushing his foot in the process.
"Fuck!" Tristan wailed in surprise, his damaged foot standing in the middle of us as his eyes crinkled in pain and his fist flew to his mouth, biting his hand to remove the pain in his foot.
Crap.
I stood paralysed staring at him, my anger still evident towards him.
He moved his foot slightly and winced at the pain, but managed to move his foot so it was back beside his other one and breathed out a shaky breath.
