Chapter Two
The boys were arriving in less than ten minutes, and I was still stood staring at my abstract wardrobe undecided on what to wear.
I don't really know why I was getting so hung up about this, but my desire to make a good impression in front of them was just too much.
I sighed loudly, just randomly grabbing the first piece of clothing that looked presentable.
It was a dress. A pale orange summer dress to be exact, with thin spaghetti straps and finishing just above the knee. I loved it.
I put it on and completed the outfit with silver sandals after looking out the window and noticing the bright sun glowing into my bedroom.
I lightly curled my long hair, and let it fall in small ringlets down my back. I put the minimum amount of make up on just to decorate my face slightly.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror and decided it would do.
I headed out of my bedroom door ands skipped down the stairs, my nerves edging me on. I arrived at the kitchen door where Mum was making breakfast and sat at the breakfast bar, bouncing my leg up and down.
"What's with the leg?" Sophia asked me as she walked into the room.
I immediately stopped.
"Nothing" I looked away and grabbed a banana from the fruit bowl.
She narrowed her eyes at me suspiciously but looked away when Connor entered the room.
"They're just around the corner Mum. They're bringing the equipment as well, so is it alright if we practice in the basement?" Connor had discovered the basement last night and had decided that it was his new band room. Mum hadn't been too pleased at first but as always he'd persuaded her to allow him to use it.
Mum rolled her eyes at his over enthusiasm at having the boys round and laughed softly.
"Like I said last night, just use the room" As she said this, she placed a piece of toast and eggs in front of each of us and we scoffed it down eagerly, trying to finish before they got here.
The door bell rang when I was putting the plates in the sink and I looked up, my heart racing with nerves.
Connor sprang from his seat and ran to the door as I straightened my dress out and breathed out through my mouth, closing my eyes.
The sound of boys laughter floated through the house and Mum dried her hands, heading in the direction of the front door. I stayed stood next to the sink, unable to move.
I heard Mum greet them and the boys returned hellos, and then footsteps approaching the kitchen as everyone came towards me and Sophia.
Connor and Mum walked in first, then followed by a petite boy with soft brown curls. He had shining blue eyes and was wearing a bowlers hat, a checked shirt hanging from his shoulders, rolled up to his elbows.
Then came a taller boy, with brown hair styled up in a quiff, and wearing ripped jeans and large smile. I instantly smiled back at his grin.
And then came the final boy in the band. A tall, blonde boy, with flowing hair and beautiful blue eyes. He was wearing simple skinny jeans and a white tank top, but he had to be the most beautiful person I had ever seen in my life.
At the moment I was staring, he ran a hand through his hair, his fingers easily sliding through and I almost swooned at the sight of him.
He must have felt me staring, because he suddenly looked in my direction and I looked away blushing, knowing if I met his eyes, I wouldn't be able to look away.
