Chapter 23

The day had passed in a complete blur and my lack of sleep was catching up to me when lunch finally arrived.

I was headed towards the lunch hall with Lucy and Matt, their hands clasped together in a tight hold as we all walked in silence.

Their relationship was definitely something that I'd never understand.

I sat down beside Jade quickly when I reached our designated table and she mumbled something about Ellesse being an arse hole again.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"You brought lunch today?" I shook my head at Jade's question and she suggested we queue together for food.

I noticed Grace was in a similar mood to this morning, her shoulders hunched over an untouched sandwich in front of her.

I was seriously beginning to worry about her.

When the queue had finally died down and I was holding pasta and a water, I sank back into my seat, exhaustion taking over.

I rested my head on the table and closed my eyes.

"I assume he kept you up all night then?" I was startled at the sound of Grace speaking but when I looked up at her sharply, her eyes were glittering with amusement.

Oh God.

Here we go.

"Excuse me? Him? Who is him? And why does Grace know something that I don't Mrs?" I looked down at my pasta as I twirled it around my fork, my cheeks heating up at Jade's words.

"I just had a late night." I mumbled into my food as I glared at Grace slightly, internally telling her to shut her mouth.

As usual, she ignored me.

"She's going to find out sooner or later." Grace was smirking at us both as she tried to push her sadness away.

We were definitely having a chat later.

"Would someone tell me what the frick is going on right now?" Jade was speaking in a harsh whisper, trying to not attract the attention of the others at our table.

I put my head back on the table and groaned.

I couldn't believe Grace was doing this.

I nearly killed her when she spoke her next words.

"Tristan stayed with Mia last night! All. Fricking. Night. And I know there's more to it than she's telling us." She spoke quickly and she smiled sweetly at me when I glared at her again, my head still resting on the table as my cheeks flamed.

Jade had her mouth open in complete shock and I groaned again.

"Mia Booth! No fucking way Mia-" I shoved my hand over her mouth as she practically shouted her words.

Lucy and Ellesse looked over suspiciously before returning to their conversation again.

Jade giggled happily and her eyes were dancing with glee.

"You have to tell us everything! I can't believe this, you've got one of the hottest guys in our year wrapped around your little finger!" Her fingers with playing with her nose piercing, a habit she often did when she didn't know what to do with her hands.

She was so excited and it was driving me insane.

"Calm down you absolute turd or the whole school will know before the day is over." I glared at her slightly to get my point across and she pretended to zip her lips together.
