Chapter 27
I woke up to light streaming through the gap in my curtains, and my legs tangled in a heap with Tristan's.
His eyes were still closed in contented sleep and his arm was draped behind me, my face resting beside his neck.
I moved closer towards him till I was settled in the crook of his neck, and he instantly pulled me closer, securing me to his side.
"Sleep." He mumbled into my hair groggily, and I smiled silently, suddenly feeling wide awake.
"But we have school..." I said, laughing slightly when his face contorted into annoyance, his eyes still closed in silent sleep.
"Who cares?" He shuffled me as close to his body as he could get me, and dotted kisses along my scalp as I sighed contentedly.
"You're making it extremely hard to have to get up right now." I muttered softly, squeezing my arms tightly around his torso.
"Well don't then." I silently debated whether to actually sit in bed all day, but my brain caught up with me and forced my legs to untangle from his and rise from the pillow.
"We have to..." He grumbled loudly, shoving his face into my pillow and sighing heavily, "Besides, I need to talk to Grace, and you need to keep your grades up."
He raised himself into a sitting position and looked at me incredulously, "When me and this band are touring the world and you are by my side, I will remind you of this conversation and how utterly ridiculous you sound." I tried not to laugh as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Well at that point, you can tell me 'I told you so' as much as you'd like but until then, we are going to school." I rose my eyebrows at him, daring him to argue and smiled smugly when he cursed loudly.
I ran to the door, "I'm going to shower - I'll meet you downstairs."
--
I crept softly down the stairs after I'd cleaned up, dressed in my school uniform of a straight back skirt and white shirt.
I startled suddenly when voices erupted from the kitchen, alerting me that Connor was with Tristan and he wasn't alone.
Crap.
I'd completely forgotten about Con.
I hesitantly approached the kitchen until I was stood in the doorway, blazer trailing in my hand behind me.
"Morning...?" I questioned, looking at Tristan as he lounged against the kitchen cupboards, a coffee cup in hand.
"Morning sis - Tristan's driving with us today." He said, motioning to Tristan with a spoon in his hand.
"How come?" I asked, flicking my eyes between the two boys in a regular pattern.
"Thought I'd have breakfast with my favorite siblings so I dropped by early this morning." Tristan said almost sarcastically, but his tone alerted me that Connor had no idea about last night.
I hoped relief wasn't too obvious on my face.
"Well, I need to speak to Grace before school." I said whilst grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl, "I'll be back before you set off."
Tristan discreetly winked at me as I left the room and I couldn't help the blush blooming on my face as I left the room.
I was falling for him.
--
I knocked three times on Grace's door, shuffling from foot to foot as I waiting impatiently for someone to open the door.
The door flew open unexpectedly, revealing a wrinkled and pajama wearing Grace, her eyes showing obvious sleep deprivation.
"Mia.." Grace ran a confused hand down her face. "I wasn't expecting you..."
"Yeah I'm sorry," I uttered a slightly apology, "But I just need to speak to you...its urgent."
"Okaaaaay?" She blinked slowly and then ushered me up the stairs, closing her door slowly behind us.
"Is everything okay?" She asked, her eyes suddenly seeming more alert as she settled into her bed covers.
"Yeah.." I said, settling beside her, "I just need you to know something."
She looked more alarmed and held my arm tightly.
"Is everything okay?"
I looked away from her worried eyes.
"I have no idea how I'm supposed to tell you this.." I wrung my hands together in a nervous gesture in front of me.
She suddenly let go of my arm.
"Oh no..." I looked up suddenly as she stared at me, tears brimming her eyes, "Please tell me he didn't tell you." She started when she saw the expression on my face, "How could he do this to me?!" She wailed out.
She sprung up from the bed in a wreck, gripping her hair in her fists as she moaned in pain.
"Grace oh god, you need to calm down." I gripped her upper arms in a way to get her to listen to me, soothing her in the only way I knew, "You don't need to panic - please calm down and listen to me!"
She hung her head in front of me, refusing to make eye contact as she fell limp in my arms, all fight gone out of her as she faced defeat.
I spoke quickly, before she moved away from me, "You cannot blame James for this." I needed to establish this first so she knew he didn't do this maliciously, "I practically forced it out of him so please never think that he did this to hurt you. He only did this to help you - because Grace...he cares so much about you. You have to believe me." I looked at her pleadingly as tears streamed down both our faces.
She suddenly pulled me into her arms as she sobbed uncontrollably.
"I'm so sorry Mia." She whispered into my hair.
"Everything is going to be okay." I patted her back soothingly, "I promise."

So whilst writing this I decided that in my comments section I was going to be honest with every person that reads this book.
I'm so incredibly sorry about these slow updates and the fact that after writing for a certain amount of time, I find it hard to keep going.
If I am being honest with you guys, I feel like I'm starting to force this story and that when I'm writing, I'm doing it because I feel like I have to - not because I really want to.
I will try and finish this story as soon as possible as I have far better story ideas and feel like no one even cares or reads this book anymore.
And yes that is my fault.
So sorry for the slow updates - I'll try my hardest to finish this soon and just get it all out of the way.
I still love you all,
till next time, beth x
