So the time had finally arrived.

Final lesson, where I knew I had to face the room of brooding teenagers by myself.

How exciting.

Note the sarcasm.

I heard the bell ring in my fifth lesson class and I hauled my books into my bag, getting up slowly, the thought of the next fifty minutes making my stomach hurt.

I was also dreading it because I knew I had to face people I'd never even met before.

My stomach twisted even more at the thought.

I meandered to last lesson, knowing if I took my time I wouldn't have to sit there for even longer than necessary, being the loner sat at the back of the room.

I approached the door as soon as I saw it and could feel a presence behind me as I slowly placed my palms on the wooden frame of the door.

It was now or never right?

"Considering you're new you might not have noticed this, but to get into a room, we usually push the door, not just touch it?" I turned my head slowly at the sound of an amused voice and came face to face with a broad chest.

He was probably the tallest person I had ever seen in my life, standing at way over six foot.

His face was skinny, with a harsh jaw and his hair was a floppy mess of brown and blonde on his head.

He was smiling down at me softly, an amused glint flirting in his deep brown eyes.

"Would you like me to show you how?" he asked, a full out grin spreading across his face as I stood rooted to the spot, not uttering a word.

I quickly removed myself from the trance I was in and pushed the door quickly, laughing nervously as he walked behind me.

"You know I was only joking right?" he asked, his smile fading to a mutual smirk.

"Yeah..yeah I did" I stuttered out, lost as to why this person was even speaking to me.

"So what's your name squirt?" I laughed lightly at his new nickname for me and let him lead me to where he sat presumably - in the back left corner.

Just where I liked it.

"My names Mia" I said louder this time, "You?" his smile was contagious.

"My names Ethan" he said whilst smiling, sending me a wink at the end.

He seemed ridiculously good at smiling.

"You seemed a little lost out there. You can sit with me if you'd like, it's not like I have anyone else to sit with" his smile vanished for a second and then returned as if it had never left.

He truly was something else.

I liked him instantly.

His personality was so intriguing, and I felt like I'd known him my whole life.

"No...I don't have anyone either" I smiled shyly, "I'd love to sit with you, thank you."

I plonked down inelegantly next to him, and removed my book and pencils from my bag, preparing for the art lesson ahead of me.

"So do you like art?" he asked, dragging his bag onto the desk as I looked at all the people walking into the room.

I didn't recognize any of them.

"Well yes I quite enjoy it actually. I just hate showing people what I've done because they're never any good" I laughed awkwardly.

"Well why not? I'm sure you're amazing, you have such painters hands. It's utterly divine" he gushed silently and I laughed at his expression.
