We played one short game of Monopoly with Aunt Sylvia, her husband Robby and some other friends who had stuck around for the company and the booze. Yes, always the booze. Gabby excused herself saying she was tired and went upstairs. I also left, citing tiredness as the culprit, although in truth, my mind wasn't on games and I suspect neither was Gabby's. I walked towards the mini suite that had been grandmas, where me Holly and the girls would be sleeping.
She entered her bedroom, which she hadn't seen in years. Her bedroom, which almost never felt her presence when she was growing up, for she was always next-door, in that 'other' bedroom. Her husband had fallen asleep almost immediately upon laying down. Her children also were sleeping soundly on a pull out.
Not really sleepy, she stood in the middle of the room contemplating the happenings of the day, when suddenly she found her feet taking her somewhere. She found herself in the bathroom and having no need to use it, knew exactly where they were taking her. Emerging on the other side, she leaned on the doorway peering into the darkness. It took a few seconds, but her eyes adjusted to the lack of light and suddenly she saw him, at the far end of the room, in the bed that had never been moved. In the darkness, he smiled at her in his nakedness. She put her hand into her pants and as it disappeared down the front, looked back at him seductively, daringly, unashamedly as she touched that which she was about to give to him, that which belonged to him and only him. He started stroking himself, beckoning her to him. She rubbed herself. Finally, she could take no more and ran to him, jumping into that bed, into his arms...
The orgasm woke her with its sudden violence, causing her knees to give way. She fell onto the floor by the bathroom door and after recovering, literally crawled on hands and knees the twenty or so feet to the empty bed, their bed, and lifted herself onto it. In the darkness, she buried her face in the pillows in the hopes of smelling the scent of him, but too many years and too many washings made it a thing of the past, only to be remembered in memories of years gone by. She curled up in a fetal position and did the only thing that was left to do......cry.
