The rest of the fishing session was painfully awkward, she had briefly introduced herself to Michelle, but they didn't talk for the whole rest of the time. They both stocked up and headed back, giving all of the fish to the adherents to store and cook eventually. They were really nice about it, which wasn't expected since she had been slightly afraid of them at first. She wasn't able to see them, so it was impossible to tell how they were feeling or what they were thinking, so seeing them in such a good mood was relieving. They said she was worthy of praise from the Lord and took the fish gratefully.
It was getting later in the day, and she hadn't done much afterwards, just taking in the setting and thinking things over. It really was beautiful, she couldn't picture a better place for her to be. Living alone seemed impossible now that there were a lot of people around. Everyone aside from...
Right. She hadn't seen Jasper all day. He did say he was always the one responsible for water supply, but after last night, he probably wouldn't be up for that. His cabin was right next to hers, so she figured she'd go check on him, since he was probably really drained. She had never seen anyone get drunk so fast, and she used to live with the standard popular girl. They seemed to be having a pretty casual night, so this was probably a normal situation. He really was going to drive her insane.
She was starting towards his cabin but was stopped by Eren. They looked fairly calm compared to the other times she had seen them, while keeping that same aggressive demeanor at the same time. "Hey, you just get back?"
"Yeah. I was just going to look for Jasper."
Eren rolled their eyes. "Yep. That jackass isn't gonna get out of bed on his own. He gets hungover way too much, seriously. The amount of times Calvin's had to drag him out of there is insane."
They moved to Jenny's side and they started to walk together. "Is he like... okay? How often does this happen?"
"Well, he drinks with Calvin whenever humanly possible. But usually it only gets this bad maybe... once a month?" they said it like that wasn't a lot.
"Once a month?! Seriously? Jesus, does anyone try to stop him?" Surely he was too young to be drinking this much, it made him look like an alcoholic.
"I tell him to knock it off all the time! But he won't listen to me, maybe Calvin some of the time, but other than that, he's always being a little shit. I don't expect he's gonna be any different now, I'll just have to hit him again." They were almost at the door by now, and Jenny stopped them before they went in.
"If he gives you any problems, can I join in with the hitting part?"
Eren laughed and smirked at her. "Be my guest."
They opened the door and to no surprise, Jasper was on his side in his bed, hair an absolute disaster, eyes barely open. It was in the middle of the afternoon, she was surprised that he still looked this bad. He looked like Steph when she came home after a party, and she was always wrecked, so if anything, Jasper was just being dramatic. Calvin was on the bed across from him, not as bad, but definitely banged up a bit. He had seemed hesitant about how much Jasper had to drink last night, and it looked like he was only sticking around to look after him.
Eren stepped down over to him and hit him over the back of the head. Jenny was startled, but went with it, assuming this was normal. All he did was groan and turn his back to them.
"Don't give me that, you whiny bitch." Eren raised their hand to hit him again, but Jenny grabbed them and took it into her own hands.
"Jasper, you're being a baby. Get out and see the light of day or I'll hit you harder." she meant it, but not as aggressively as Eren. Eren turned to Calvin, proud of their new roommate. "I like this one."
