She couldn't think of anything to say and just kept the gun at his throat, finger on the trigger, trying not to shake.
"Why bring a gun in here with no intention of using it? You're smarter than this."
"You don't know me!" she shouted, tightening her grip on his shoulder. He raised an eyebrow mockingly. "Oh, but I do. I really do. You can drop the act, I can tell you're terrified."
"How about you keep your mouth shut for two goddamn seconds!" she was visibly trembling, but wasn't going to get into that. She wanted any other possibility than him being right. But he was smart, smarter than her, or anyone she'd ever known. And that was what scared her.
"You act like you're ready to send a bullet straight through my brain. But I know you won't. Maybe you need a little push." his hand remaining on the gun, he moved it higher, coming up to his forehead. He wasn't scared at all. Just one twitch of her finger and he would be dead, but he didn't even care.
"Go on. It's very simple Jenny, just move your finger. Unless you haven't used a gun before and don't know how it works." his snickering was just driving her up the wall. She wanted to shoot him so badly, but her hand wouldn't budge. "I... I'm going to kill you." she could hear how ridiculous she sounded.
"No you're not. Now put the gun down and just let me talk to you. You believe me, so you know this will have major consequences. You'll die. I don't think Jasper would like that very much."
The gun slipped out of her hand and fell to the floor, she didn't even have the strength to hold it anymore. She was shaking head to toe, and was hopelessly trying to remain in control. But she never had been. Asher was always controlling her. From the very beginning. Bringing up Jasper's name even once threw her over the edge. He knew what made her tick, and she wanted to kill him so badly for using Jasper's name like that, but just couldn't.
"Leave it." he said blatantly. She couldn't get the gun back even if she wanted to. That same force that was keeping her in one spot was still present. It only happened when she was around Asher. He was right. She was horrified of him and what he was capable of. He was never wrong about anything, and showed no sense of fear, ever. How was he even allowed to exist?
She took her hand off of him and stared at the floor, fists tightened. There was no way to outwit him. He was going to get his way whether she liked it or not.
"You win. I know. You don't really have a reason to lie about all this. Let's just get it over with, I don't care anymore." she reached for the top of her robe and started to pull a bit over her shoulder.
"No no no, stop it. We have all night. You have time to think things over. Any concerns you have, you can share with me. Don't force yourself, alright? I may be selfish, but I'm not inconsiderate, especially when it comes to this." he took a step forward and put the cloth back over her. She turned away from him, still not caring how this went or if it was even safe. All she wanted was for this to be over.
"You're so desperate to die, so why are you waiting? You don't care about me, you just want me for your own benefit." she asked, grabbing her arm to keep it from trembling so much. She didn't know if it was her body's response to fear, or if it was the chill from this old church. It felt so cold, colder than any of the other times she had been in there.
He sighed, but not with the same attitude as before. " I do care for you. More than I've ever cared for anything. Again, we have time. I don't want you to be uncomfortable."
"Well that's kind of hard when you're supposed to kill a guy right after you have sex with him."
"I know it's going to be difficult-"
