A curl of bone-chilling air ruffled through rattling the dried leaves, the noise of heels clicking, and the rolling wheels of the stretchers were chiming around.
"Did you know me, Ian? Before we met at the amusement park?"
The black pupil was swallowing the crystal blue in his eyes, the tips of his finger sunk deeper into my waist pulling into his inescapable possessive hold.
"Ian," I shook holding on to his shirt, his dilated pupil withdrew to its initial position revealing gorgeous blue in them.
"This void look of yours..." I trembled as I poked out a finger, "It's frightening," I let out, tilting my head, brows pulled together in fear. The startling change in his aura combined with the emptiness on his face didn't settle well.
"Answer me," I asked jerking him.
"No," Was his answer as he snaps his gaze away, his facial features were almost robotic that made me wonder if he's the same person.
"Lie."
"I said, no," He says glaring dangerously, jaws were set firm.
"Your lying, Ian."
"Stop it!" He hissed, the sharpness in his tone stung like harsh thorns, my heart shrunk with disappointment. I look away glaring at the fountain brimming over with water.
Moments later, a weak breath let out by him reached my ears. "Raine?" He called softly, I ignored him and continued focusing on the water. He let go of my palm, I felt his hand on my chin.
"Raine... look at me," He said, his voice sweeter and lovelier than the humming of a loon bird compelling me to listen to him.
He angles my face, my eyes drifted meeting him. "What?" I asked grumpily.
"Sometimes Raine, life could be peaceful if certain things are left undiscussed and undisturbed." He said, draping the right side of my face into the warm blanket of his hand that made my breath hitch.
"Why do you get to decide that?"
My inner palm was pressed straight on his pounding chest. "Do you trust me, Raine?"
I pass him a long nod enclosing the little space between us, raucous calculations and predictions on what he might say were roaring inside of me.
"Then trust me when I say, this is not the right time to discuss this, trust me when I say, things wouldn't be promising after you to hear what I would say," He said, in a dead-serious tone carrying a fierce look that was freaking intimidating.
As much as I wanted to know about the things he was hiding, I wouldn't force him. That's just not me.
"I'll be waiting for that day when you would willingly tell me everything," I mumbled, exhaling deeply in an attempt to let things that were bugging me along with the breath of air.
He bends down and pressed his lips on our entwined hand making sure not to touch the needle that was still latched on my hand, and the little noise emitted from his action pierced sweetly into my ears.
I giggled inwardly.
"Let's go," A sleek back car slides in.
"But where are we even going?" I asked, trying my best to let the excitement of going out after these sick and arduous months overpower the fear.
"You'll know," A short reply came from him.
I turned facing him, "Oh, I've heard this line before," I told, laughing evilly all the while striving not to redden remembering about that day we spent together all alone in the glow worm cave, and you'll know is the exact word he used when I inquired about the place he was taking me.
