"Shut up bitch, you fricking bagged the golden ticket to work with Ian Longwood!" Kennedy states while slicing her crabcake.

"Why don't you convince him so that we can switch our position?" I asked taking a sip of my drink wiggling my brows.

"Like that's ever gonna happen," It was Austin who spoke up this time without lifting his head from his plate.

It looks like he was on a mission to wipe off all my money with the amount of food he's eating.

"Whatever," I mumbled and walked towards the lavatory.

I came back after freshening up, I noticed that Kennedy was holding my phone with a frown.

"Who was it?"

"I don't know, you've saved the person's name as Mr. GJ," She uttered absentmindedly.

"I'll be back in a few minutes," I say gulping inwardly with nervousness.

It was Ian who called me, and here I was enjoying the little freedom that I granted myself as I took the liberty to extend my lunch break.

He picks up after a few rings, "Mr.Longwood?"

"Miss. Ashton, what are you doing?" I checked my phone to see if I'm talking to the right person, and it does say Mr. GJ as in Mr. Gorgeous Jerkwood.

Why does he sound different, he isn't a person who does casual talk.

What is he up to?

"Stop checking your phone, you are indeed talking to the right person." Came his vexed voice from the other end.

What the actual fuck.

I looked around to see if I'm being stalked by anyone.

"Answer my question and no one's stalking you," He spoke up with sheer arrogance.

Fuck.

"I am working sir. I had lots of work, so much work that I couldn't even take up my break. Your absence is making things more complicated." I let out a fake sigh hoping that my lie would be reasonable enough for him to believe.

"Is it?" He lowered his voice sending shivers down my spine, it was like he's giving me a chance to take back my lie.

"Yes," Too late to back off.

"Hmm..Miss. Ashton, I'm damn sure that enjoying your extended luck break with those friends of yours doesn't count as being busy with work, taking advantage of my absence, isn't it?"

Oh lord.

I was out of words, It was foolish of me to think that I can trick him.

I could hear him sighing,

"I want you to pick up the document from the lawyer's office and deliver it to Mr. Celona, Jacob will drop you."

"I'm extremely sorry sir, I didn't mean to lie to you and I'll get your work done." I rush my words before he could cut the call.

"Wait for my return, Miss. Ashton." He gave a raspy threat before the line goes dead.

I stare at my phone in disbelief, why the hell did he sound so possessive with his voice so alluring.

Jesus, I shouldn't be deluding myself with such thoughts.

I smack my forehead walking inside.

"Guys, there's an emergency, I have to leave. You people enjoy."

"Bri," She outcries and a scowl is let out by Austin.
