Yeeun POV
Break time
Today is Wednesday. The week is almost over and I can finally get all these people to leave me alone. I walked into class after using the restroom, taking a seat before pulling out my textbooks to review the lessons we previously learned.
"Studying again?" Minho asked as he sat down.
"Of course. Our first assessment is coming up so I have to be prepared," I replied as I opened my book.
"Well, have fun," he yawned before putting his head down.
As I was looking over the terms, someone knocked on my desk which caused me to look up. "Why don't you just drop out? Everyone knows you don't have a chance," a girl smirked as she stood in front of me.
"Why don't you drop out? No one even listens to your opinion," Jiyeon crossed her arms as she walked into the room.
"Was I talking to you?" The girl scoffed as she turned to look at Jiyeon.
"It doesn't concern me who you want to talk to, but if it has to do with Song Yeeun, then that's when we have a problem."
"I'm just trying to give her some advice, what's the big deal?" She smirked.
"Let me give you some advice too then. Instead of telling others what to do, why don't you shut up and mind your own business," she retorted.
"You--"
"I'm tired of worthless people. Yeeun let's go, I need to go somewhere," she walked over and grabbed my arm before pulling me out of the classroom.
"Calm down, why are you so mad?" I asked once we got outside.
"How are you not? That bitch just came up to you spouting nonsense and you don't even know her," she said in anger.
"It doesn't bother me, plus you're the one who told me to ignore them."
"That's different, she directly said it to you. Now stop talking about it before I get more annoyed."
"Fine, fine, so where are we going?" I asked as we walked down the hall.
"Snack shop, where else?" We walked down the hall and entered the snack shop. I took a seat at a table as Jiyeon walked along the aisles before picking a few snacks and grabbing some drinks along the way. She sat down after purchasing her items and began indulging herself in them.
"Slow down, no one's going to take it from you," I said as I watched her scarf down the snack as if she hadn't eaten in days.
"I'm trying to relieve my anger okay," she managed to say as she stopped mid-bite.
I chuckled as I watched her continue. I should've brought my book with me. This would be a perfect time to look over my notes.
As I was reviewing topics in my head, I suddenly started thinking about everything that happened since the week started. Why did I have to be in the same class as him? Will mom let me stay if I don't make it? Why is she so set on it though, I'm actually worried. She never cared before, so I'm sure she wouldn't go that far...right?
Seungmin POV
After visiting the snack shop, Felix and I made our way back to class. Once we got in, I walked over to my seat as he followed. I sat down as he turned his body in my direction, sitting down in the chair in front of my desk. "Are you confident about the competition?" He asked once he got settled.
"We already know the votes aren't fair. Why bother asking?" I replied as I reached for my backpack.
"I just want to know what you think about it," he shrugged.
"To me she's a strong candidate. She dedicated and way more qualified than I am. I think I still need some improvement."
"You're always so self critical," he shook his head.
"Whatever, let me study," I said before pulling out a few books. Felix sighed before resting his chin on the back of his hands as he placed them on my desk.
I began studying the material we just learned but was interrupted by Felix as his head continuously started falling. "If you're going to sleep then go back to your desk so it's more comfortable," I said as I looked at him.
He suddenly put his head up. "No, I want to keep you company," he stated firmly in a tired manner.
"Just go, I'll be fine here. Plus what if the person who sits there comes back?"
"They won't mind. I'm not moving," he shook his head before putting it back down. I softly laughed before redirecting my attention back to the book. As I was reading, I overheard two of the students behind me talking.
"Who are you voting for?" One of them asked.
"Seungmin of course, we all know Yeeun has no chance," the other replied.
"But she's always been our class president since we were in the same classes."
"I mean yeah, but that doesn't mean she'll make it this time."
"I'm still voting for Yeeun."
"Are you stupid? Why would you vote for that bitch?" Someone said as they joined the conversation.
"Didn't Jiyeon scold you enough? Why don't you give it a break?"
Can they just be quiet? This whole thing was already unfair to begin with, and I'm trying to study. I was about to turn around and say something until I heard someone slam their hand on the desk.
"I'm trying to sleep in peace. If you have nothing better to do except talk about others, then I suggest you go somewhere else," Minho said in an annoyed tone before sitting back down.
"Why's he so cranky today?" One of them mumbled.
I wonder why he stood up for her, he usually doesn't say anything. Wait, one of them said Jiyeon scolded someone right? Maybe it has to do with that.
I planned to ask Felix later if he knew anything but he woke up just in time. "Hey Felix."
"What?" He replied in a groggy tone.
"Let me ask you something."
"Go for it," he said as he stretched his arms back.
"You sit next to Jiyeon right?" I whispered.
"Yeah, why? Are you interested in her?" His eyes widened as he whispered back.
"No, stop thinking weird things," I furrowed my eyebrows at his words before continuing, "I just wanted to know if you knew about anything that happened today."
"What do you mean? And why are we whispering?" He leaned forward as he spoke.
"Like did someone cause trouble? And so that no one can hear us of course."
"Ohhh. Well I heard that someone was giving Yeeun a hard time and Jiyeon stepped in at the right moment," he responded.
"Do you know what it was about?"
"Um, I don't know the details but someone was trying to get her to back out of the competition."
"They really have nothing better to do huh?" I shook my head in disbelief. If I forfeit would people stop spouting so much nonsense? Maybe it would get everyone to quiet down. I could also focus more on studying that way...
