Chapter 14

Lena

Lena found strenght in the last days.The hole inside her that Rubys death left was endless,and cruel,but Lena learned how to live with it.She knew Ruby would have wanted her to be happy.She had only one sense in life now and it was her biggest desire at the same time.

And so Lena focused on getting her happiness back,Kara. She would never be that helpless,as she was on that evening ever again.She will fight for her love and no one should be able to keep her away from Kara any longer. So she learned fighting. Even if James were the one training the citizents in fighting,it was Alex who became Lenas tutor.Alex made her body fit,let her run kilometers.

At first she always felt like her lungs were dying,and she wasnt able to do the whole round without resting.But as more often she did it,as easier it became.When she was able to run the whole round without beeing too tired,Alex was nearly satisfyed with her condition.So they started training her muscles.Squads,push ups,sit ups,all that stuff.The worst one was the plank.Alex let her do that over and over again,and you have no idea how slow time goes by when you are in that position.

Lena loved and hated how her muscles burned from this.She felt good using her body for her plans and she felt as if she finally slowly started to become the woman Kara deserved.And she will safe Kara,no matter what,thats for sure.

So Lena trained and trained,all of the days and as a side effect,she became really close with Alex.They talked about Kara and Ruby while the training,what made the situation not as painful,because they were able to let the emotions out in their fights.Alex slowly trusted Lena and began to see her as her only relative left.They spent nights together next to Sams bed in the medical cave,talking and trying to wake her up.Nothing ever happend but the two of them helped each other feeling less lonely.

They talked about Kara a lot,Lena asked a lot about her and Alex loved talking about her sister.Lena told her a bit about how they met and blushed a little more as Alex gave her a knowing look.Alex was the one that opend this topic,she was a bit shy at first what was really not her normal behaviour:"Sooo you and Kara are like a thing?...I dont wanna hurt your privacy or something,but i am just curious"Lena suddenly found the floor somehow really interesting and looked down."I-I am not sure,like she offered me to live with her,in her apartment.And she is the most important person in this world for me,even if i only know her for a month. She has this aura..."

"...that always makes you happy and feel safe..."Alex continued her sentence,smiling at Lena.She exactly knew what was going on there and Alex also knew her sister."You know,Kara never was interested in dating someone and sometimes i was really woried about her.She was a such a happy child you know,such a dork and always wanting everyone to smile.But she never cared about herself,only about others and if she grew older she lost this happy,childish dork inside her.She became Zor El,of which i am incredibly proud of course.But i always was sad that she lost her funny dorky soul.It was the part of her that i admired the most.Her positivity and her ability to see the good in everything.And you know what,you brought this Kara back.I dont know how but Kara is more herself with you, then ever before and you seem to be a really kind and  good person to me Lena.I just wanted you to know i would be glad to have you in my family"

Lena sobbed,as she heared that words from Alex,she remebered something that Lexi said on that most horrible day of her life..."Alex if i ask you something would you gave me an honest answer?" Alex looked her in the eyes:"Of course i am gonna answer honest,as long as i know the answer at least."

Lena struggled a bit with the question."You-uhm,do you think it is...disgusting?I mean that me and Kara are both...female?Like Lexi said that to me before kidnapping Kara and she is still my sister and-idk"Lena looked ashamed,she avoided to see Alex face.

Alex did something totally unexpected.She took Lena into her arms and said calming words to her.It was not as if it was with Kara, no glowing heat inside her, not the best place on this earth,but for this moment,Alex arms were enough.

"Lena,dont  say this, not even dare to think it. I am so sorry someone told you this lie,and that it was your sister is making it even worse.Lena loving someone is never disgusting.Love is the most holy and rare feeling that a human is able to experience.And if you found someone who gives you the feeling to be loved,it is a gift of this harsh,brutal universe.It doesnt matter if this someone is a male a femal or anything in between,the love is still there.It is beautiful and i am truly happy that Kara and you found each other.Never ever let anyone tell you otherwise.We will get Kara back,ok and it will be a real joy for all of us!"

Lena never thought that she would be accepted so easily for her feelings,she always hid them because Lexi and many people before her told her this was not right,that it was disgusting and against the nature thats why Lena never knew what love was like,but listening to Alex now she clearly saw how wrong they were.

Alex let her out of the hug and smiled at her."I hope you know i am always there for you.I see you as another sister Lena,you are the only one left who i can trust at the moment and i am sorry i know i am not the sister you lost but i will always support you and be there for you."And Lena was speechless.Alex was more then she ever asked for,more than she ever deserved.And still is this wonderful person now her friend,maybe even a sister.

How could life be so bitter at first and in the darkest moments still showing a small light?

They looked at each other in acceptance and with joy to have each other in this times.It was a bit of a wonder.

But then Lena remebered what she thought about most of the time lately and her face clouded:"Alex i think here is a mole.In the city i mean.It is not possible that they came in without someone that was already inside and opened the door for them."

Alex only nodded:"I know and i am already searching for this bastard.I found out that it was one of the guards,because only one of them knows how to open the door and i have 3 people that had watch in that night.It is in between Jonn Jones,who is a really good and kindhearted guy,who is really wise and i cant figuer him to betray us in that way, James,our most important guard that Kara trusted with her life, and i am sorry to say that but the third guard that had watch that night was Winn Schott.He is new and i dont know what his intentions are,so i wanted to ask you what kind of person he is?What was his job in Metropolis?can you tell me anything that would help me find out if he is this damn mole?"

Lena and Winn had not the best relation to each other but she knew one thing for sure and that was,that he loved Ruby with all of his heart.And he was happy to be here,he never had any contact to the Reign,he was a simple farmer in Metropolis before.Thats what she told Alex,she knew deep down that Winn was not a mole:"Have you seen his tears at the funeral Alex?He loved Ruby and wanted to protect her,i am really sure he not only acted like that, i saw the pain in his eyes and it was real! He is not the one you are searching for"

Lena suddenly remembered a scene from her walk with Kara."Alex...James is this tall guard with the brown eyes,the bold one, right?"Alex nodded."Kara and me crossed his way on that night.Remember when we were out for the walk.We crossed him and he acted really strange.He called Kara "Zor El" in a really strange way.And he also was not on the normal position.What if he was the guard that opened the door for the Reign?"

"James? No Lena that is not possible he is our guard since... i can remember since when but for a really long time now,he always protected us.How could he betray us in that way."Alexs look was sceptic but Lena saw that she also thought about the possibility that Lena was right.She remebered multiple times where James acted,the fact that he never wanted to call Kara by her name, only Zor El.

Her voice became scared:" When he is the mole...Then you are the only one i can trust by now.He is training the citizents in fighting and he is really loved by them.What if he is secretly recruiting our people for the Reign?"

"I dont know Alex but if it really  was James fault...Then he will be really sorry for what he did to me,to all of us and to Kara.I want to punish him by myself if that is ok?"

Alex nodded in agreement."But i will help you thats for sure!"

Lena and Alex left the medical cave,a team,sisters in mind that will fight together against their enemys.And they will get back the people they care about.
