Chapter 21

Lena

Sneaking into the cave was easier then Lena thought.The light began to fade away and they watched the guards while overhearing their conversation.They talked about some big fight and if it were ok to leave the entrance alone for an hour.That was more easy then they thought cause both of the guards nodded and went in.They seemed excited and Alex asked out loud what Lena thought:"What big fight are they talking about,what do you think?"

Lena actually had no idea but she thought it was probably some Reign thing that they just should left alone,maybe they fight for the posture if the leader or something.Good for the two of them,thats for sure.Lena and Alex slowly walked out of the bushes and hurried to the entrance.The Iron door was heavy and ice cold but together they pushed it just enough to leave enough space for the both of them to climb inside.Lena grabed Lexis spear that she had bent on her back and pulled it out.Both of them needed to be ready til now.Alex hold two daggers in both hands,small,easy to hide and absolutley deadly.

The cave was cold, way colder then it was outside and also really wet.The air was old and stifling and smelled sweaty.The floor was long and reminded Lena to a Labyrinth there were 3 possible ways.They were really careful but from the middle way sounded a loud noise.Some big things were happening there.Alex whispered:" Lena they are all distracted,maybe we should split up to search for the cells faster.We meet here in 15 minutes again,i will take the left way and you the right,ok?"

Lena nodded and looked around carefully,then she pulled Alex into her arms."Alex be careful,ok?dont risk anything as long as you are alone."Alex pulled Lena closer and it felt like an apology."ALEX please promise me"Lenas whisper was scared and concerned."Lene stop worrying that much i will be fine,we all will.And you, be careful to,if you find Kara or Lexi dont do something on your own.We will see each other soon."

They gave each other a look that motivated them to come back, that let them know there was someone waiting.And so Alex walked down the left path and disappeared in the shadows.Lena looked after her til she realized she had to go too now.So she stepped into the right path,the middle path was to loud and full and no doubt  it would be deadly.

Walking to this cave was not as scary as Lena thouhgt,it was lightened up and the temperature was cool and pleasant.She walked through a part of something that looked like apartments.The life of Reign members seemed not that diffrent then the people from National City.Lena tried to figure them training or simply cooking in the cantine,it was a weird imagination but all this people were human at least.They only had a wrong moral.Maybe they deserve a better chance, maybe they only took a wrong path and get manipulated by the leader of Reign.Lena was sad about this but she was not able to change it.She had to focus now.

After a few more moments where she passed some laboratorys or stuff like that and also a big storage another iron door caught her attention.It was the only iron door she saw since the big enterance.That door must be important,maybe it was a door through their prison.Kara.Lena left all her caution behind and ran through that door.Normally that would have brought her a lot of opponents but now everyone was at this fight so that she was able to enter the room easily.

The room smelled bad,and it was dark and wet.The light from the outside was not much but what she saw in this small beam scared her.It was a chair and a rope next to it.Someone was tied up in here.Then there was some kind of a machine that she was not able to see exactly but she bet it was something for torture.Then she finally took all her braveness and entered that room.She switched on the light and her held her breath.There was blood on the floor, not that much that it is critical but still blood.Lena paled as she imagined what happend here.

She trembled and then she started to figure.The only person they hold here as a  hostage from her knowlege was Kara.James said somethig about how Kara would be changed in here.The blood on the floor,that was already a bit dry,was it Karas?And if Kara was here before,where is she now.

Ohhh no no no,the arena,the big fight...

Lena gave a shit about this whole beeing sneaky thing and ran back the way she came.

-Meanwhile at Alex place-

She followed the path and it led to something that seemed as a cafeteria.Everything here was more friendly and opened and less dark then she imagined.But the cafeteria was not what she needed right now.So she followed the path and it took a turn,and when she walked through it, she realized that the noise that she heared from the middle path was getting louder.Was it possible that they lead to the same place?Alex was curious now.The daggers in her hand let her feel safe and so she decided to look what was happening there.

Suddenly she heared footsteps and knew she had to act fast.She pressed herself into a small gap in the cave walls and hold her breath.It were only two,if she was fast enough maybe no one will notice.But they walked away without noticing her and entered the cafeteria.Alex let out a sigh,that was close.She made her way to the noise again.And soon she saw a big arena with a lot of Reign members in it.It seemed as if they were waiting for something,alone in the arena there was a girl,Alex somehow thought she seemed familiar but the girl changed since they met the last time.She had dark brown hair that was not brushed for a long time,she looked sad and broken.And the biggest diffrence was,her eyes were green,not the exact same green as Lenas but Alex remebered this girl.It was Lexi Luthor,the girl that came and captured Kara,the girl that killed Ruby.

Somehow Alex felt no anger inside her.She exactly saw Lexi and all she felt was compassion.These green eyes were not cold and cruel as the yellow ones that the girl had before,she seemed tired and hopeless.Deep down this girl was a child,hiding behind strenght.Maybe the whole things she did were not her,if it was true was James told them.Maybe they did the things to Lexi that they planned to do with Kara.She had to tell Lena about this, but then something happend that caught her attention one more time.A loud voice announced the fight."PEOPLE OF REIGN! See Lexi Luthor, a traitor of our home and our believes.She will suffer for what she did.But we are not animals,are we? She will get a chance to safe her own,worthless life and live abanndoned by all societys for the rest of her life.But she will have a big fight,with our newest and also strongest member.Ladys and gentleman,let out a big applaud for Zor El.""

Alex was paralyzed.It was exactly the diffrent reaction then she had for Lexi.The young Luthor was helpless and lonely and broken,but Kara seemed as if nothing bad happend to her.Kara seemed strong and her beautiful blue eyes changed in a cruel yellow glance.Alex knew they came to late.

But if Lexi was able to fight this change that,whatever they did to the both of them,made them evil,Kara her little soft sister Kara would be able to come back too,right?And then Alex looked at around in the room and her heart stopped beating for a moment.Lena was in the middle entrance,she hid,but for Alex it was no challenge to see her.If this jerks would ba a little more attentive that would be a big problem,lucky them that the members gave a shit of their job and watched the two woman instead.You could see pain in Lenas eyes,if it was because her helpless sister or this cruel version of Kara or maybe a mix of both was something Alex couldnt tell.

But then the fight began and Kara made her step towards Lexi.Lexi meanwhile only sat on the floor, not moving, eyes closed.She expected the death with open arms.

Some mocking screames out of the crowd."Weak! Loser!Piece of shit! Hoe!" It broke Alex heart a little.

Lexi sat there,as if she were not part of this whole world.She meditated.And then some old lady gave Kara a sign and Kara started.She hit Lexi in the face with her blanke fist and the crowd yelled in happiness.Lexi started bleeding and took her hands up to the air.Totally peaceful and helpless,she threw her only weapon away before the fight even began.Kara now took her chosen weapon,it was only a small knife,as if she knew it wouldnt be hard to win and came closer to Lexi.

Alex decided to do something ,and it has to happen fast.She wanted to contact Lena and carefully waved towards her.Lena saw Alex and relief shined into Alex direction.Both of them did it til now.They needed to stop this.Fast..About 5 meters away from Lena there was an alarm button.Alex pointed on it and Lena understood.But how should she press it without someone seeing her.

Alex formed a peace sign with her hand and showed it to Lena and then took a deep breath.She shook her head in panic but Alex continued what she did.She unhid and as Kara put the knife right to Lexis throat she started to distract everyone:

"KARA DANVERS WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING HERE!?"
