"And I was runnin' far away
would I run off the world someday?"

Warm sunshine filtered through the murky glass window, illuminating Eden's evergreen eyes--which scanned rapidly across her Herbology textbook. She leaned the side of her face against the cool glass, pulling the sleeves of her woolen sweater over her palms as she turned the page. A cup of coffee sat beneath her knees, which were tucked up to hold her textbook.
On every surface of the room sat pots of lush green plants, like an overgrown jungle of emerald. It had started with Jill, Eden's peace lily. Then Eden had brought Barbara, her snake plant. From there Francesca had begun purchasing plants alongside Eden, and eventually every free space was filled with them.
The air smelt of eucalyptus, soil, and rosemary--as Francesca kept the bathroom door open during her shower, its hot air warming the room. Faye tilted her head up to Eden, who sat in her usual spot in the window sill. "How are you not sick of this, I'm so sick of this." Faye laughed, gesturing her hands in the direction of Francesca's record player, which was playing Eden's beethoven vinyl.
"Did you know Beethoven's last words were 'I shall hear in heaven.'" Eden smiled, bringing her oddly shaped mug of coffee up to her lips. "Why'd he say that?" Faye set her own Herbology textbook down and climbed up into the window to sit across from Eden.
"He was deaf, you see. Well, it's debated whether those were actually his last words, but I like to think they were." Eden began. "It's quite poetic, really. If there really is such a place as heaven, I hope he can hear as well as he could play." Eden shrugged, passing her coffee over to Faye.
"You really could be a Ravenclaw, you know." Faye smiled, taking a sip of Eden's too weak coffee. "She's ambitious!" Francesca yelled from somewhere in the bathroom. "She's Slytherin!" She went on, and Eden could help but to laugh.
"Hey, I heard that Draco Malfoy was giving you trouble." Faye passed Eden back her coffee, making a mental note to sneak another shot in next time she made it. "Really? No, he's not. We've had a couple of interesting run in's, I suppose, but it's nothing bad. It's amusing, if anything." Eden shrugged.
"Pansy Parkinson has a pretty strong opinion on you, actually." Faye grinned. "Oh, of course she does." Eden rolled her eyes. "Yes, except she seems to believe your name is Astrid Albero, not Eden Albero." She cocked her eyebrows. "Ah, I see." Eden nodded, setting her mug back down.
"Well, I told Draco my name was Astrid because I thought it would be funny." She said simply. "I've actually thought about it a little bit, and I think I might introduce myself using different names every time I meet a new person."
"Eden." Faye laughed. "You don't meet people.. Ever. In fact, if going to school for six years in the same house with a guy who had no idea who you were doesn't say it, then the fact you spend every meal in the kitchens and hide in the library during Hogsmeade trips does."
"Well if you're so worried about it, then introduce me to more people." Eden shrugged. "That's Francesca's area of expertise, you can talk to her about it. Anyway, why do you want to tell people different names?" Faye asked. "I want to be all mysterious and interesting." Eden laughed. "You've been reading way too many romance novels." Faye rolled her eyes.

Draco's head shot to the entrance at the sound of the doorknob hitting stone. Three Hufflepuff boys entered, laughing and patting one another on the back. Draco rolled his eyes, returning to his textbook. Hufflepuffs are so obnoxious, he thought.
