Fresh out of fucks forever

"I think I'd like to tell Vivi soon." Eden swirled her foot through the iridescent water. Its surface like liquid crystals reflecting the sun in glittering opals as it descended. "Hm?" Draco hummed from his spot in the water. "About us, I mean." Eden had opted to stay on the surface, her feet dipped into the little river they'd found whilst Draco swam through the icy waters."What about us?" Draco paused, his pale hair plastered to his forehead. "I want to tell my mother." Eden sighed. "Honestly, aren't you listening?" She huffed. "Sorry, love." He grinned. "I was imaging how pretty you'd look if that lovely little blouse was drenched and see-through." He crept over to her and placed his dripping forearms on her knees. "What a gentleman." She rolled her eyes. "Now tell me what you think I should do."
"I think you should swim with me." He reached a hand up to lift her hair over her shoulder. "Draco." Eden frowned, even as heat bloomed within her. "Write her a letter saying we're in a relationship and that I'd like to come over for dinner in Christmas break to make amends for my behaviour the last time she saw me." Draco shrugged. "You don't need to make amends, she'll understand."
"Do it anyway." He pulled back to submerge himself fully in the water and Eden watched him for a moment longer before speaking. "How are you not freezing? Never mind, we need to get back to school." Eden glanced up to the pale oranges and pinks that coloured the sky like a beautifully faded rose. "Alright." Draco heaved himself out of the river and a cascade of water rushed to meet the grass beneath them. Eden performed the hot air charm for him as Draco pulled his shirt and coat on before they departed.
"What about your friends?" Draco asked suddenly as they broke through the tree-line, his hand intertwined with hers. "Faye hasn't said anything, but I know she knows." Eden thought for a moment. "And I'll have to tell Francesca around when I tell Levi, seeing as the whole school will find out in a matter of minutes." She sighed. "That day at the bridge, while you and Francesca were rock skipping--or whatever you were doing." That earned him a glare. "I told Faye I love you."
"Before you told me?" Eden startled. "How did that happen?" She furrowed her brows in disapproval so Draco resorted to swinging their arms obnoxiously back and forth until she smiled as he said. "She told me she was happy that you confide in me, and then she asked if I loved you so I told her yes." Faye did tend to invoke deeply hidden truths from people when she got them alone. "That's so unfair."
"Jealous?" Draco raised his brows. "No. I told Luna before you told Faye." Eden laughed. "You told Luna?" It was Draco's turn to be surprised. "And I was dramatic about it, too." She added. "I may not forgive you for this, you know." He tutted and Eden rolled her eyes as they reached the grounds. "I can live with that. You've hated me before."
"Not really." Draco scoffed and Eden hesitated. "What does that mean?" She eyed him. "Eden- I never hated you." He laughed, tugging on her hand until she stopped. "That's bullshit. You even said you did?" Eden released him to fold her arms across her chest. "So, this whole time you've thought I hated you?"
"You didn't?" Silence befell them, before Draco began to laugh. "What?" Eden watched him in bewilderment. "Darling, I wanted to bend you over that desk in Herbology the day Francesca was sick and we had to partner up. It drove me insane." He gave her a sly look. "If my memory is correct, you forced me to be your partner then kept knocking my things over to piss me off."
"Perhaps I wasn't very good at showing it, then. Though I suppose it did take me a while to admit it to myself" He chuckled. "So you truly hated me, then?" He cocked his eyebrows. "Yes! I thought you did, too. Idiot." She sighed. "And that whole time I thought you were flirting with me. Shame." Draco was still grinning. "Self absorbed dumbass." Eden bit down her own laugh.
