Chapter 18 - Second Chance

Hugo's POV

It was her dad, Justin with a bouquet of roses for some reason and a large group of fans? How did they find out where she's staying for Paris?

My eyes widened with shock, I was so shocked and surprised that I didn't know they started taking photos of me. I quickly closed the door and only to see Sofia's startled face.

She asked worriedly as she walked to me, "Hugo what's wrong?"

I questioned her as I put my hands on her shoulders to make her look in her eyes, "Sofia did you tell anyone where you're staying in Paris for the month?" She shook her head with a confused face as she raised an eyebrow. She asked nervously as she looked at me, "Why do you ask?"

I held her hand and took her over to the door where there was a small opening through a door allowing the viewer to look from the inside to the outside.

She looked unfazed by this like this was normal for her but she wasn't happy about this. I could see it in her eyes.

She opened the door and put on a fake smile for the photos for her fans or readers to her. It was like a 10  people? I don't know but all I knew is that Sofia is not happy about this behind that fake smile she was doing for the camera.

Sofia's POV

I was taking photos with my fans. Probably thinking a fan tweeted or posted about where I am staying.

After I took photos with the fans I decided to ask them, how they knew where I was staying.

I asked politely as I looked at one of the fans, "Excuse me but how did you find out that was staying here?"

She smiled as she showed me the tweet, "Oh this fan over Twitter, tweeted about you staying here."

I thanked them as I smiled softly, "Thank you." They smiled as they went off.

They soon left once I saw my Dad, my birth dad.

I turned to Hugo and Justin as I instructed them, "You two go into my room for now and stay civil." Both of them opened and closed their mouths and just went inside to sit on the couch.

I turned to Dad. I asked as I gave him a fake smile arms crossed, "So Dad?" "What's your business here?" "To tell me that I'm doing the wrong job?"

He sighed as he smiled, "Actually no." I thought to myself, "No?" "That's new." "Wonder what else he could be here?" He exhaled sharply as he smiled gently, "I want another chance to be your father and fix our relationship."

I stood still for a minute. I blurted out as I looked at him with a serious, stern look, "Why?" "Why now?"

He smiled as he grabbed my hands, "Well I have realised I missed a lot in my own daughter's life as your father." He added in a more quiet voice as he muttered under his breath in a protective tone, "Especially since you have a boyfriend now."

I laughed as I saw him be a protective dad, "Okay I'll give you another chance." I added, chuckled lightly, "Also I don't have a boyfriend thank very much." "Hugo's just a friend."

He sighed as he shook his head, "Oh Sofia that's what all the couples say when they haven't realised it yet they have found the one."

I was about to say something when I heard some familiar voices. I turned around to see Emma and Felix bickering about Miraculous? That's a rare sight.

Emma retorted as she crossed her arms, "Baby I love Chat Noir but I've loved you longer."

Felix just scoffed as he rolled his eyes in an annoying way.

I heard Emma say as she went to past us. I giggled to myself as I saw them walk themselves to my hotel room.

I walked dad to the lift and hugged him. I waved to him before heading to Justin.

Justin's POV

I was in a room with Hugo, my arch nemesis. Only to see two more of them walk in bickering over something.

I realised when I took Sofia on a date. I still want to use her to become more famous but instead of I want her as a friend at least. She definitely isn't like other girls, there's something special about her.

She came into the room and smiled gently walking to me. We walked into a separate room. From the corner of my eyes I saw Hugo glaring at me. His eyes read, "If you hurt my friend then I'll hurt you."

I asked handing her the bouquet of roses, "Sofia." "Uh can we start over?"

She asked incredulously as she raised an eyebrow at me, "Why?" "So I can be another one of your toys?"

I shook my head as I gave her a smiling apologetically, "No because I'm sorry for the way I treated you on our date."

She made an big O shape with her mouth as she apologised, "Umm sorry I didn't know I thought you were here asking me for another date from the roses I mean."

I waved a dismissive hand as I teased her, "Nah it's fine." "Those were apology flowers." "Besides I know you have a certain protective friend that you might have a crush on?"

She giggled as she blushed slightly, "Nah me and Hugo are just friends."

I laughed probably knowing there's more to it, Hmm." "Okay okay I'll drop the subject for now."

She nodded as she smiled gently, "So see you later I guess?"

I chuckled lightly as I walked away, "Yeah see you later."

Third POV

Sofia went back inside to her hotel room to see Emma and Felix still bickering about Miraculous. While Hugo was sitting back enjoying it like it was nothing.

Once Sofia sat down next to him. Hugo asked as he looked at her, "So how did things go with Justin and your dad?"

Sofia smiled as she beamed, "Good surprisedly." "I'm giving my Dad another chance and as well as Justin." Sofia added as she saw Hugo about to say something, "But as a friend this time." "And I'll be careful this time."

Hugo nodded as he smiled taking her hand, "Okay because the last thing I want to see is you getting hurt."

Sofia laughed as he reminded her of her overprotective brother James, "Hehe well you're not the only one trust me."

They were going to go to ice skating practice when they forgot their friends were bickering over something random.

Felix fought back as he smirked, "Well Ladybug then look good." "If you say you like Chat Noir."

He pouted innocently making Emma blush and groaned covering her face with her hands. Then she fought back suddenly.

Emma yelled as she smiled cupping his cheeks, "Baby please Chat Noir isn't better than you!" Emma added smirking, "Chat Noir, I do like him but I love you more."

Felix blushed sightly as he laughed, "Okay okay I'm sorry baby."

They said in unison as they blushed, "No I'm sorry baby."

They giggled as they kissed before catching up to Sofia and Hugo before they left them.

Hugo thought to himself walking with Sofia smiling to himself, "Everyone deserves a second chance." "Whether they're good or bad." "Maybe I should try to give love a second chance." "Maybe."
