Chapter 16 - Promise

Sofia's POV

After they were done with ice skating practice for today. We decided to hang out in my hotel room. Because it was a tiring day and I have crutches so it will be hard for me to walk around Paris.

We just sat down and talked to each other like we usually do. When it got dark outside. I realised as we were talked.

I said slowly as I smiled, "Uhh guys it's dark now." "Shouldn't you guys go back to your hotel room?"

Felix sighed playfully as he leaned his head on Emma's shoulder, "Ugh fine we will m'am." "Seriously why?" "Do we have to wake up early everyday this should be a vacation time not work."

Emma and me giggled as she kissed his hair softly as she whispered lovingly, "I love you babe." "You're so cute."

He smirked as he stared down at her lovingly, "Well you're cuter."

She blushed slightly as she punched him playfully whispered, "Shut up you dork."

He smirked as he kissed her forehead, "I love you too baby."

They both smiled lovingly at each other while cuddling. I mentally kept to myself from squealing from the couple.

Hugo cleared his throat as he addressed, "Umm I think we should be leaving now."

I stated awkwardly as I nodded, "Uhh yeah sure."

He offered as Emma and Felix waited for him, "How about you and Emma go back to the hotel." "I'll stay with Sofia."

I said awkwardly only to be cut off by him, "N-no it's f-."

He smiled as he looked at me, "I want to keep you company."

I could tell his smile was sincere and genuine. I smiled back in return.

Felix stated as he smiled brightly, "Okay that's fine with me and Emma." He paused as he stated, "But Hugo you will have to sleep on the couch and you will need to go back to the hotel to get your pjs."

He said simply as he nodded, "Okay I don't mind." "I'll come back to your room when I got my clothes for tomorrow and pjs."

I smiled gently as I nodded, "Okay."

They left my room and I got changed into pjs. I started to read some books sitting up on my bed.

Hugo's POV

As we walked back to our hotel. I saw Emma and Felix smirking slightly.

Once we got inside of our hotel room. Emma got into Felix's room to change for us to talk about Sofia probably.

He smirked slightly as he turned to me, "So why do you want to stay with Sofia tonight?" "And have you come to terms about your unsure feelings about Sofia?"

I stated as I smiled, "Because she's my friend and I care about her and no I haven't." I paused as I said sincerely, "Like I care about you and Emma." "You two are like a brother and sister to me." "I'm grateful for you." "For the both of you."

He looked at me shocked and stunned for a minute before saying while smiling softly, "Me too dude." "You're like the brother I never had." "I'm grateful for you too." "Both of you."He paused as he nodded in agreement, "Emma is my girlfriend and I love her a lot no matter what happens but you're my best friend and like a brother to me, you'll forever will be."

We shared a small hug and fist bump. He smiled as he pushed me to the door of my room, "Anyways go to get your clothes and go back to Sofia." "We'll see you in the morning."

I laughed as I came out of my room with my clothes and pjs, "Okay I got them." "See you in morning dude."

He smiled softly as he nodded, "Okay see you tomorrow morning."

I went to Sofia's hotel room and saw her sitting up with a book. She looked up and smiled.

She pointed to the bathroom as she smiled, "You can change in the bathroom and after that you can sit on the bed with me before going to sleep if you want."

I nodded. I got into the bathroom and got changed into my pjs.

I got out of the bathroom and sat down next to Sofia.

She smiled as she gave me a book. We read books for an hour I think. I looked at the clock and it was 9:30pm.

I turned to Sofia as I stated, "I think we should get to bed now." "Besides we're both tired from today."

She shook her head quietly but her tiredness betraying her getting a yawn out of her, "No I'm not tired." She yawned as she giggled tiredly, "Uh my yawn got the best of me."

We laughed as we got up. As Sofia was getting her bed ready, she started getting a pillow and blanket for me, after she did it, she was about to go to her bed.

I said slowly as I walked to her, "Sofia?"

She turned to me and smiled, "Yeah?" "What is it?" "Is something wrong with the couch and pillow, blanket?"

I said quietly as I laughed silently, "No, no it's not that at all."

She said concerned as she looked at me, "Then what is it?" "You can tell me if something is wrong?"

I shook my head as I said calmly, "No." I trailed off as I spoke, "It's..."

She smiled as she nodded, "Okay." "What it is?"

I mumbled under my breath as I looked at her, "Promise me you won't leave me."

She asked incredulously as she looked at me, "What did you say Hugo?"

I said seriously as I looked at her, "Promise me you won't leave me."

She smiled gently as she asked me, "Hugo why do you think I would leave you?"

I said simply as I looked at her, "My mum left me because she didn't love me." "I remember that scene when she left when it happened today it was when we met your father." I added as I gave her a broken smile, "I don't want to go into a detail about it."

She suddenly hugged me tightly as she smiled sympathetically, It's okay Hugo I won't force you to tell me about it if you don't want to." "All I want is to be there for you." "I promise you I won't leave you."

I slowly returned the hug as I patted her back slowly. She pulled away and smiled softly at me.

I could tell she was serious but sincere when she said that, I was stunned but deep down I was happy but didn't show it. I said coldly as I nodded quietly, "Yeah yeah whatever."

She whispered as she went into her bed, "I will keep my promise no matter what." She yawned once more before drifting off to sleep peacefully, "Anyways good night Hugo see you in the morning."

Once she was asleep, I quickly shook my head and went to the couch. I mentally questioned myself going to sleep, "Why do I feel happy about this, Sofia not leaving me, why is she different from Emma and Felix?" I quickly shook my head before drifting off to sleep.
