They say time moves faster when you're having fun, and Trixie could see the hours ticking away like minutes, all anger at the other girl's lateness completely evaporated. Her cheeks were hurting from smiling so much, and it was almost as if she could see small butterflies flying around them like in a sugar-sweet dream.
"Favorite TV-show?" Katya asked.
"I barely watch TV, but 90 day fiance owns my whole ass." She said with a laugh.
"Really? I thought I did." The blue-eyed woman replied, making Trixie almost spit out her drink.
She was secretly falling in love with Katya's impromptu sexual comments, and insanely strange sense of humor, finding herself to be endlessly amused by almost everything the woman said.
"You wish." She said.
"Maybe I do."
Trixie didn't question Katya on the comment, just as she hadn't questioned Katya's statement about remembering everything about her, the weight of the words felt best left unknown.
It all felt like the innocent high school romance she never had, ironic considering they'd met in the least innocent place ever. Still, she had no idea if she was just reading into things, or if Katya really was interested in her beyond physical attraction.
"Is there anything you'd wanna collect?" Katya asked, continuing their Q&A game which they had thought necessary as their basic knowledge of eachother's likes and dislikes was still pretty lacking.
"I mean, Barbies mostly, I'd like to really start collecting really rare ones." Trixie replied.
"How very on brand for you, miss Mattel." Katya laughed before adding; "I'd wanna collect teeth."
"Teeth? Like real teeth?" The brown-eyed girl said in shock, laughing a little at how insane that sounded.
"Yeah, like human teeth. I'd wanna have them in a little bag that I could use as a shaker. Who needs maracas when you can have a tiny teeth shaker? Oh, I'd also like to collect knives and fake feet." Katya said as if it was the most fun and casual thing in the world. It did shock Trixie enough to make her burst out laughing from how insane it was tho.
"You're seriously the strangest person I have ever met, and I'm also increasingly convinced that you're secretly a serial killer. How the fuck have you managed to convince people that you should be in charge of a company and have people working for you?" Trixie joked.
"It's easy! You just fuck all your employees and they all love you." The blue-eyed girl rebutted with a laugh.
"Ah yes, a sound business strategy."
With each new piece of information she learned through their conversation she felt as if she was a child picking pedals off of a flower, asking "she likes me, she likes me not". Katya was deadly charming and sweet one moment, and evasive and cold the next, and she didn't know what to believe.
But Trixie's heart was playing a much more dangerous game, her flower holding much more weight on it's pedals as her brain kept asking; "do I love her, do I love her not?"
"Tell me about your family." Trixie said.
"That's not a question." Katya replied challenginly.
"Okay, what do your parents do?" The brown-eyed girl said with a sigh.
"I'm not answering that."
Well, that's another question she's evaded, Trixie thought.
She supposed she shouldn't judge the woman too harshly, after all any questions related to Trixie's own childhood or about her staying at Robert's company had faced the same treatment. Still, with how much Katya pushed for her to reveal her life story, she would have expected the blue-eyed woman to be a little more open in regards to her own.
"Okay then, why Krisis Kontrol? Like, why is it called that?"
"Short version, I was in a personal crisis. I was bombarded by cacophony of voices in my head saying; you're not good enough." Katya said in a dramatic Russian accent making Trixie laugh despite the fact that there seemed to be some truth to the tale. "Honestly I just entered the industry to turn my dad's last name to shame by making it pop up on every porn site in the country because of how he'd ruined our home, the company itself just felt like my way of dealing with our crisis."
Trixie was silent for a moment, in shock by the fact that Katya had actually told her something legitimately personal. It was the first time she'd gotten the woman to even mention something related to her parents, and her first long look at Katya's life behind the confident facade.
"I don't know if that even makes sense..." The blue-eyed girl said softly, scratching her neck.
"No, no, it does." Trixie quickly said, not wanting whoever that Katya was to slip behind her mask again.
They ate in near silence for a while after that before their date, or casual meetup or whatever it had been, was cut short by Katya getting a call from her head director who needed her help at the studio.
Trixie didn't know whether or not she was disappointed or relieved that they didn't have to define what this had all meant, but she didn't let her mind linger on it, content with appreciating the meeting for what it actually had been instead of focusing of what it could have been.
