"Because I love you, you fucking idiot!"
"You what?" Trixie responded in shock.
A part of Katya wanted to run and hide, forget that the words had ever been spoken, but she pushed that voice away. Her inner demons wouldn't win this time. She was taking a risk, pouring her heart out and taking off the veil fully, putting her fragile heart completely in the brown-eyed girl's hands.
"I love you. I love everything about you." Katya said, a stupid grin starting to spread on her lips from the joy of finally letting herself admit what she had been feeling for so long.
"No, you don't... there's no way.. y-you can't.." Trixie studdered out, unable to let herself believe the other girl's words.
"Well, too bad, because I do. I love your stupid stubbornness. I love your cute cheeks that blush too easily. I love how you pout when you're angry and stomp your feet like a little bunny. I love how you say no to me and call me out on my bullshit. I love how you speak your mind without hesitation. I love how you laugh at even my most insane jokes. I love your insanely beautiful honey brown eyes. I love how your body feels against mine. I love your addictive kisses. I love your ridiculous laugh. I love your adorable smile. In short; I love you."
Finally she wasn't holding back, instead pouring her heart out, letting herself let go of the shadows of her parents' twisted version of love. No longer would she let the fear of ending up like them hold her back from going after the one she wanted. Katya was putting it all on the line because Trixie was worth it, pretty crystal-like tears rolling down her cheeks as she spoke.
"Y-you love me?" The brown-eyed girl questioned as her brain started to take in the other woman's words.
She felt as if she was being thrown for a loop, from Robert's insane demands to Katya's love declaration that had seemed to come out of nowhere, and yet she felt tears of joy threatening to spill. It felt too good to be true, and yet her heart desperately wanted to trust that Katya truly meant it.
"Yes, you stubborn bitch. Now can you please take a break from pushing me away and just let me worry about you?" Katya said, but she didn't get a reply, instead soft lips met hers and suddenly the world seemed to disappear.
Trixie wrapped her arms around the blue-eyed woman's neck, melting into her without worrying about the consequences. Kissing Katya without the barrier of anger or acting was magical. It was as if the woman was breathing life into her again, making her world make sense. Her troubles seemed small when Katya wrapped her arms around her. Her heart felt at rest when she could drown in Katya's lips.
She had everything to loose.
If Katya didn't truly mean it, it would probably take her years to get over it.
If it wasn't love, but just affection, her heart would shatter in a thousand pieces.
If Katya ended up getting bored, she'd be the one left a fool.And yet she knew she wouldn't regret trusting the blue-eyed girl's words. She wouldn't regret letting herself fall uncontrollably. Because suddenly staying in Katya's arms and heart was worth the risk. And so she was throwing caution to the wind, finally letting herself admit what she already known deep inside.
Trixie pulled away, disconnecting their lips, her honey-brown orbs meeting Katya's bright blues as she admitted;
"I love you too."
