The next second

Sol had a bad feeling in his stomach.

We know what you are. The words kept circling in his head.

What I am? What does that mean? Sol thought, getting worried.

He heard the sounds of battle through the walky-talkie.

He wondered if he should try to find the source of the voice or hide.

He looked at the girl and decided to hide.

"Wake up." Sol said.

The girl moaned and slowly woke up.

She looked around and said "Where am I?"

Sol knew they needed to leave fast, because demons were killing the bunker.

He brought the girl to forest to be safe.

He picked up the girl and ran out of the building.

He saw a large forest ahead of him. He wondered if that would be a good place to hide out, but he was concerned about the girl.

"What is your name?" Sol asked.

"Emma." She said.

He decided to bring Emma with him to the woods.

He might need help finding his family. There was also the small problem of finding food in the woods.

"How do we find food?" He asked.

"I used to go out hunting with my father" Emma said, "but I haven't done it in a long time. Oh and the closest grocery store is 20 miles away from my house."

"We can't go there, too many demons."

"We could kill some"

"I don't think demons would taste very good..."

"Maybe we could catch some fish. Do you know how to fish?"

"Kind of but we have no equipment"

"I know some tricks. You just need bait and a hook. Why didn't you go out with your father?"

"My father is... Dead i think"

"I'm sorry" She says, after some silence "Do you want to go home?"

"Maybe, but first we need to find a weapon."

They walked further into the woods.

Suddenly an injured wolf appeared in front of them. It appeared to be a young wolf, but it's torn up appearance suggested it had been in a fight with larger creatures.

"Oh no what happened to her?" Sol asked.

She looked at him and whimpered. Her ears lay flat against her head and she looked down.

Sol kneeled down to the wolf's level and placed a hand on her head. He thought he knew how to flip over the bad thoughts this wolf was having, so he tried to focus on the good.

"Emma do you have anything to help with this wolf?" Sol asked.

"I have an ointment, but she needs food first." She replied.

Sol agreed to go back to the car and get some food.

He returned a few minutes later with a rabbit in his mouth.

"Here wolf, have some rabbit." He said.

The wolf opened her mouth and Sol placed the rabbit into it. She played with the rabbit for a while, then looked up at him with gratitude in her eyes.

"Hey Emma what should we name her?"

"How about Frost?" She suggests, "It's a cool name."

"Yeah, I like it. You name her, she's yours."

"Alright then, let's go back to the bunker."

He put some ointment on the wolf's wounds. She huged him while he did this.

"Thank you for looking after my pet." Emma said laughing.

Sol smiled.

They went to sleep.

Sol closed his eyes, and put his head on Emma's shoulder. He thought he heard the wolf howl, then everything went black.
