Nhinx
Trevor left minutes ago after big brother Role came back with Sir Elliot and Nicole.
"Nyx," He said the name like a curse.
The door burst open. Trevor and I stand up to see what's happening. I stumbled back because a sudden force hit my body.
Nicole ran as soon as she saw me and jumped to hug me. "I thought you died!" she wailed.
"Ouch, I may be alive but my body still hurts!" I winced. She let go and sensed something that, with a blinding speed, made her look at Trevor.
"Did you grow a guy version while we're looking for you?" She then looked at me in confusion. Didn't they met before?
"We walked with him on the way to our class remember?" I asked Nicole. She looked at me and her mouth form a circle like she remembered something. "No, I haven't."
Right. I looked at Trevor, finding him stoned while looking at Nicole. "Uh, is there something on my face?" She asked when she looked at him again.
He must've snapped from whatever he's thinking and scratch the back of his head. "Sorry for staring, I was shocked to...see you."
I looked at him suspiciously and he replied with a shake of his head. "I only see her back, so I never saw her face to face. I didn't mean anything offensive!" He immediately adds while raising both of his hands.
"I'm so sorry miss Rose. If I have known this would happen, I wouldn't leave you there far from me." Sir Elliot approached and looked guilty.
I smiled at him and shook my head. "If you had known, but it was an accident and no one knows that will happen." I tried to soothe him with my words so he wouldn't be feeling guilty or at least make him feel better.
Brother Role clears his throat. "I don't want to be that person, but I have some bad news." He went toward us and removed his hood.
"Now there's three of you?" Nicole blurted out. We all stared at her. She cleared her throat and grin. "Please don't mind me, pretend I'm a couch."
Brother Role shook his head slightly. "That's not possible, because you are the subject of the bad news. Those cultists cast a high-tier delusion spell without you knowing." He explained.
"A delusion where you'll be in a never-ending paradox everywhere you go." He continued. Nicole stopped him from talking by raising her hand. "Uh, if it's okay, can you speak English? In...a way I can understand maybe?"
Brother Role sighed and asked her what part she didn't understand. "The delusion part." She replied.
Brother Role was about to say something to her, but before that she did a little dance, spreading her arms diagonally and shaking her hands as she poses. "I'm a kid." She smiles like stating an obvious remark.
He sighed. "Others see a plain field, while yours is a misty land without water. Yes, it doesn't make sense but it is true right?" She nodded slowly, standing with her full attention.
"Like you are inside a flat Minecraft world with mists." Nicole, in all her serious face, said to brother Role. "Okay...? Anyway, that mist restricts you to go further from this place. Every time you run past these buildings, you'll find yourself seeing the same structures all over again. It's because it makes you think you're in a different direction, but in reality, you're going back where you left or teleports you back if the distance is long."
