Nhinx

My shock was mirrored by Hunter, who is now looking at Carter with questioning eyes.

"I'll explain later. We just didn't expect that a mere human could be this handful." He sighs and looked at the Dragon.

There's the dragon! A dragon! Crimson red and massive! You don't see this every day.

"Noire!" I heard someone shouts. I immediately look at the source of the voice.

"N-Nicole?!" I stammered.

As the dragon flew by, Nicole stretches her left arm as she attempts to reach me.

I felt a tug on my right arm. I looked at my right side, finding Carter gripping my arm as Nicole reaches for me.

Everything begins slowly before my eyes, as Nicole misses me because of Carter tugging close to him. Hunter does a stance and does a run-jump to get on the dragon as it flies upward.

"Are you okay?" Feeling that I just snapped out from the trance of what just happened made me blink rapidly and looked at Carter

His eyebrows are furrowed, his eyes are bright and clear. I didn't realize how close we are until when he asked me if I'm okay.

"Y-yes I am." I stepped back, making enough space for the both of us. That was close-no pun intended.

When he's satisfied with my reply, he looked upward and maybe checking how Hunter is doing. I looked up and saw a shoe falling just a few feet from us... and another one but from another location.

The dragon was flying in a circular and reckless motion, like it wants to get rid of something. We felt the gust of wind from the action of the dragon, far enough yet we can make out of what Hunter and Nicole were doing.

I saw Hunter gesture something at Nicole as she shakes her head furiously. Then Hunter gets closer and said something. It shocked me about what happened next.

Nicole does a free fall above 60 feet from the ground without a parachute or a net.

I instinctively grab Carter's vest and shake him " We have to do something! She will die!" I panicked and yanked my arms from his grip and run towards my estimated place where Nicole will fall.

I spread my arms ready to catch but then she just suddenly falls like a feather when she was falling around 16 feet above me, and land on her feet safely. Again, I am left astonished.

So was Nicole, her emotions caught up as her knees gave away, the grass made a rustling sound as she slumps on the ground. I ran towards her to make sure she's alright.

"I-I'm alive... T-that was...." Her lips tremble, like her body, as she spoke.

A presence made me twist my head to find Hunter looking at me "Is she alright?"

"Yes. A bit rattled." I said.

"I a-am rattled all r-right!" She shivered and gave Hunter a glare and then back at me "My sh-shoes are gone."

"If you didn't throw it, you probably still have it," Carter said as he approached us.

"It is called self-defense" She gritted her teeth and gives a hard emphasis on the word 'self-defense'.

"Can't you be more trusting?" Carter asked while lifting a brow portraying confusion.

"Yeah, like what? Trusting people who dug graves and steal dead bodies threatening to erase my memories? Leave alone that can use hocus Pocus! I am sorry for not trusting then." She said exasperatedly

"A verbose one. Terrific." Carter's voice drips with sarcasm in every word he said.

"Wait. Erase her memories?" I ask worriedly when the words sink in.

"We don't have any choice." He said plainly

I was about to say something when we heard a holographic sound coming from none other than Hunter.

"The headmaster wants to talk to us." He said to Carter with a knowing look.

Carter looked at me " You need to come with us."

Nicole grabs my arm for support as she stands up. "I'm going where she is going!"

"Stubborn human. Don't interfere, I will deal with you later." Carter gave her a frown.

"She needs to come also." Hunter breaks the tension between the two.

"What could possibly the headmaster want to a human?" Carter's voice is full of curiosity.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
