NhinxBack then, I struggle with a lot of things. It's been weeks after I got here...I'm still struggling. I thought that the new reality is more fun since I have yet to discover new things...but it's very hard to cope up these days. You have to learn new spells to perfect, I have a ton of spells lined up to perfect. A different recipe for potions and it's longevity effects! Don't get me started with the standard subjects like History!
"Nhinx?" I snapped out when Hunter called my name. I'm in his own office. A Fifteen-year-old boy has his own office! He said it's a privileged offer being a council, which I need to understand.
"You haven't touched your tea."He asked me to have tea with him, and here we are now. "Sorry about that." I said.
I sipped the tea he gave me earlier and set it down on the coffee table. "Hmn...How should I say this..." He sighed.
I have a feeling that I know what he wants to say. I'll just have to say it first.
I also heave a sigh. "I'm failing am I?"
He looked at me sympathetically. "Well, not really failed-failed...but, uhm, you're getting there."
I groan in frustration. I knew it for the past weeks but I didn't care that much. If you're tossed in a world you don't know, grades are the last thing you would worry about. Is he going to lecture me as they do back at the human poid? Carter told me that they call it 'Human poid' since it's a world of humans across dimensions and stuff.
"That's not all I noticed," He paused for a moment and sipped his tea for a moment to give him time to think on how to say it without getting me offended. "What is it?" I asked.
"You distance yourself from the students besides Nicole and the councils...Pardon me for asking but, is it the same when you were back at the human realm?" He asked worriedly. I can't help but nod. What can I hide anyway, now that I'm not there anymore?
"I see," Hunter muttered to himself and leaned his back to the couch he's sitting on. "Tell you what, after the council's tutoring, I'll check you on a daily basis for your performances and studies. I'm not asking your permission, but to inform you."
I looked at him in confusion. Why would he help someone rather than focusing on his plate? Given he's a busy council and a young student.
"What about your studies and the council?" I asked. He just smiled. "Don't worry about that. I have an exemption at things. Well, most of the things." Well, that was shady...I'll just pretend I didn't hear that.
He looked at the window near us. It's on the second floor so the students are still visible.
"Your brother isn't here to help you. He's my friend and so are you. Plus, you remind me of someone that had the same problem. I can't do anything while she's struggling. I don't what the same thing happen to you." He said while tracing the mouth of the teacup with both of his thumb.
"What happened to her?" I asked. "Not to pry or anything." I added.
Again, He gave me his usual smile and stand up and walk towards the door.
"You have lessons to study, and your friend will be here." I looked at him quizically.
He opened the door and looked at his watch. "Right about now."
Nicole out of nowhere passes through the hallway while looking troubled and looking left and right mumbling. "I just passed this earlier right?"
I stand up and rushed to meet her. How did he know where she was? I turned around and looked at the door of his office before meeting up with Nicole.
