Phyro
"I don't want to do that ever again. Look! By just remembering it gave me goosebumps!" I looked at Hunter, finding him looking at the path we walk past by earlier.
"Earth to Hunter." I snap my fingers to get his attention. He looked at me. "Sorry... I was just... do you think we forgot something...? " He trailed off. I just gave him a shrug. "I don't think so." I turn my attention to the path in front of me.
"Anyway, are we almost there? We are walking for ages!" I complain. These woods are foggy and confusing!
And then again my companion is awfully quiet..." If they saw me first, they'll think I'm crazy for talking to my-" I turn to him, for the second time, only to see a space beside me. "-self."
Wow... just wow. Why does everybody leave me?
"Hunter! Man seriously?!" I shout. My voice echoed through the trees. He checked the car again, didn't he?
"Argh more walking. I didn't sign up for this." I start walking back to where the car is parked.
Four minutes felt like torture. The grass tickles me! It's not my fault I'm ticklish. Ticklish problems.
I found the car and checked the car, but no Hunter. "Hunter!" I called out again. I sigh and looked at one of the trees. "Where is your master?" I know I looked, let's face it, crazy.
I received no response. This tree is testing me. I stretched my head from side to side and clapped my hands. " I'll ask again. Where is Hunter? Unless you want to be a charcoal? I can do that." I smiled evilly. Yes, I'm scaring a tree. What am I doing in my life?
The air around me became tense. I separate my hands apart, and between my hands, there's a flicker for a moment and consumes the fog near it that, in a second, became flames.
I looked at the tree. "Well, mister tree? What will it be?" I saw one of its branches begins to move and points to the left. "That's more like it." I extinguished the flames in my hands and gave the tree a tap before leaving.
I saw a figure crouching down. Must be Hunter. "Hey, Hunter!" I called up to him for the third time. I jogged to him to see why he's crouching.
"Dude! Don't leave without saying! I'm-A dead body?!" There was a girl, looks like she's around our age, lying motionless on the grass.
"She just fainted that's all." Hunter lifts her in his arms. Wait isn't she...
"Phyro, call Carter," Hunter said, still looking at the girl. I picked up my scroll and looked for Carter in my contacts. Ah, there is it. I pressed it and begins to ring.
"Where did you find her?" I asked him.
"I was hoping to check the car when I felt that we're not alone... so I checked the area instead, and I found her staring at one of the floating islands, flabbergasted." He explained.
"And she collapsed?" I wasn't sure if should laugh or be sympathetic.
"And she collapsed." He repeated.
I've heard about mortals before, but I didn't know they're sensitive. Well, it's our first time to encounter them, they're like us but doesn't have the same energy.
"Hello?" I jolted when I saw Carter's visual appeared in hologram.
" Hello, Carter." Hunter greeted him back.
"You called." Carter looks down for a moment and looked at us again.
"Paper works?" I asked. He nodded.
"About the human earlier." Hunter started. Carter raised an eyebrow. "What about the human earlier?"
Hunter shows the human girl in his arms to Carter. "How did she get here?" He looks at us, demanding to know anything.
"She must've sneaked into the trunk." I blurt out, causing both of them to look at me. "I checked the car. The trunk is was open, so I closed it." I feel like I needed to explain, like I was a criminal or something.
"Bring her here. I'll ask the headmaster about what we can do in this situation." Carter massaged his temples.
"Understood/ Sounds cool." We both said as Carter end the visual call.
We both headed back. Though we need to hide the human, I put some mist on her, to avoid unnecessary attention.
We stopped when we're at the academy's massive entrance. There are two massive pillars both sides connected by the massive entrance gate of the school, and the academy's logo in the middle, embellished with gold. Phoenix.
" Identification scrolls." said one of the guards. We gave them our scrolls and after five minutes of inspection, they let us in and proceed further inside the academy.
"The sounds of the sea makes me relax." Hunter smiled.
"Well, I prefer the bubbling of magma."
We pass by a modernized building that almost covered in glass, this is where junior high school spends their leisure time. I'm still in middle school, I'll just have to wait next year to be a high schooler!
"Here we are." I stopped when I heard Hunter speak. I looked at the building in front of us. Ah yes, middle school leisure building.
It's late in the afternoon and most of the students are in their respective classrooms, so the leisure building is all ours.
Hunter placed the human girl on the couch. " It's a good thing we're able to bring her here, the mist is too weak for the barrier. Thank goodness nobody checks us further and just gives a recognition check to go inside of the academy." I said while Hunter arranges the couch pillows.
"I didn't know we're able to use for something, but can you believe it? We're assigned to do this mission instead of our seniors!" Hunter looked at me and shakes his head.
"We're councils, that's what we do." Hunter leans on the wall beside him.
"Right...just because you're a high schooler that doesn't mean we're boring." I crossed my arms and looked at him.
"I didn't say that. Your brother is proud of you when you joined the council. He couldn't even stop talking about it, even when our class starts." He laughed.
"It runs in the blood." I smugly said to him. "Ah, that reminds me of the meeting later."
Hunter's scroll rings. He looked at it for a moment. "It's Carter." He tapped his scroll and Carter's hologram pops up.
"The other council and I talked about what we're going to do with the human." Carter looked between me and Hunter.
"What?" I asked. Carter's stoic face gives me a bad feeling in my gut. Are we going to...
"Bring her to the chamber 004 and erase her memories." Carter's talking to us, but more specifically at Hunter. After he told us the information, the call is ended. At least it's not what I think it is.
Silence engulfs the room. I'm trying to think of what I can say. "I feel bad for erasing her memories." Hunter was going to say something when something happened. It was quick and caught us off guard. Hunter was whacked on the back of his head, the weapon was thrown after he was hit. I follow the weapon, with my eyes, it turns out it's the couch pillow. I'm about to react when all of a sudden, I saw an unfamiliar face in front of me. "You're-" My sentence was cut off when I felt my whole body trembled with pain. My jewels...
I felt my legs wobbled, I couldn't stand any longer, and so I lie on the ground.
"S-stop." I still manage to say. She's escaping!
Hunter gained his composure and ran after her, while I'm laying on the floor, clutching my friend. My future!
