Nhinx

The night was getting late, I should be resting now, yet here I was witnessing the boy in front of the door taking his upper clothes off.

"Whoa! What are you doing?" I hurriedly stop him before he can remove his belt.

"Taking my disguise off?" He replied like it was normal!

"I think you should explain first." Hunter suggested.

The guy looked at me questioningly.

"Didn't grandpa explain?" He asked.

Hunter only gave him a shrug. The guy looked at me and sigh.

He walks over to the living room and made himself comfortable.

"You're tracking mud on the floor, you know." I said matter of fact, he ignored my statement and motions me to sit down across him, so I did.

"Seems like my work here is done." Hunter got our attention once again.

"Don't overwhelm her Trevor." He said before getting out.

"I can't promise that!" Trevor called out.

After Hunter left, Trevor leaned forward and examine me closely.

I felt uncomfortable, so I decided to call out to him, but he cut me off by saying something strange.

"We really do have the same eyes!" He sounded so astonished.

Because of what he said, I found myself looking at his eyes. It's blue.

"No we don't." I cleared out. He reclined his back and gave me a smirk. "Yes we do. look properly."

Once again, he leaned and stare at me. For a moment his blue irises swirl clockwise and turned into a warm brown color like mine.

"See. Like our father." He said. I'm too stunned to talk. How did he change his own irises? Woah... Wait father?

I looked at him, the full view. Not just his eyes, but also his hair that was black earlier, now in complete hue of violet. He's wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with three medium stripes on the chest area and paired with black pants.

I looked over at the spot where he removed his shirt earlier, finding it completely spotless, even the mud tracks!

"How...?" I trailed off.

"Talent." He shrugged off like it was nothing.

Still in awe, I can't help but to stifle a yawn, so I immediately cover my mouth.

He sigh and looked at the time "It's past bedtime," And looked at me "Sorry for keeping you awake, but I need to tell you this sister."

Sister? Grandfather? Father? Blood-Related?.. No sh** sherlock.

"Trevor Rose. Yes, we are siblings, twins in fact. Mother couldn't help herself but to get us away from here," He gritted "Unfortunately one twin was caught up during the escape plan, the other is successfully taken away."

He didn't even let me speak and continued talking.

"Grandfather found me, not long before you and mother are gone. Father is... Well... Grandpa never heard a word from him, ever since we got separated from him. Gone like the wind like mother... 9 years, we found you after 9 years , Nhinx! I found my twin, I can't help but give in to the bliss, though I know you can't remember anything. I don't blame you... We're kids back then, bunch of five years old on the situation."

My head is once again, flooded, and stuck. I've been separated from them for 9 years. Don't get me wrong, I can't possibly believe everything overnight, but my intuition tells me that they're not lying. I need answers, but I can't handle it if I can't follow.

I raise both of my hands to stop him.

"Slow down. I-I can't keep up. Let me sink the information first." I admit.

His shoulders are tensed for telling the tragic story about his-our parents.

"I did overwhelm you. I guess I broke my promise." He sigh in defeat.

"No sh** Sherlock." I hissed, clutching my head. I closed my eyes and feel the comfort around me.

If all of this is true... What are we running away from? If my mother needs us to get to the other realm, it must be really big.

"What are we running from?" I asked as I remained my eyes closed.

I heard him heave another sigh.

"The prophecy." He said.

"No, not like the one in the hero stories. Not the 'saving the whole world' kind of thing." He adds.

I opened my eyes finding him haunched supported by his arms resting in his lap, his fingers are interlaced together under his lips, and eyes cast down. Too serious for a 14 year old like me.

"The prophecy. A god or goddess must pick his or her champion for the game." He said like it was a saying from a book he read.

I felt my pulse quicken as the word 'game' escape from his lips.

"What do you mean gods and goddesses? Like Zeus?" I asked, sounding ridiculous.

He looked at me with grimace.

"Laugh all you want sister, but they are real. Not just them participating...but there are others as well." He looked at me dead in the eye.

Others? What does he mean others?

"I will tell you more about it, but for now you need to rest. You should learn from the history class you will attend from now on." He pulled me up and push me gently to my room.

As soon as I got in, he smiled at me.

"Have a pleasant sleep sis." He turned his back and head out.

As I was ready to close the door, he called out.

"Oh yeah, one more thing." He looked at me for a moment "Glad to have you back home." Then he completely disappeared from the hall.

I didn't know what to feel, but there's this warm feeling of familiarity I sensed as I talk to him.
