Nicole
"Attention to Ms. Nicole Reese. Please head to the headmaster's office immediately. Again, Attention to Ms. Nicole Reese. Please head to the headmaster's office immediately. Have a great day Phoenix."
I stifle a yawn. I swear I was studying a minute ago. I looked at my open notes and my book titled 'Potionsfordummies first edition' that Phyro gave it to me since he doesn't need it now, contemplating if I should go carry it with me or not since I'm not able to study while the headmaster's talking to me.
"Eh, worth to try anyway." I grab the notes and my book and head to the designated office.
Okay. I shouldn't have brought all this with me. I'm standing five feet away from the headmaster's table. He's writing, as always.
"Have some cookies." The headmaster offered, glancing at me then back at the papers. "No thank you." I denied.
He shrugged. "Your loss, It's a limited edition of 'I'mfeelinggeneroussoI'mgivingyouone' cookies," He gets one cookie and eats it up while looking at me with a raised eyebrow. Is he talking about the cookies or him?
He swallowed before continuing. He did a little chef kiss. "Magnifique! My grandson made these cookies so be glad I'm willing to give you one." Y'all have two kids in the room right now.
He cleared his throat before getting serious. I thought he choked for a second. "The cookie must be a delicacy since you look like a kid again," I said rather passively aggressive. I regret it when his eyes lit up. "It is! My grandchildren are worth bragging for! And I just look young but don't let my looks fool you."
By the way, did I tell anyone that he looks like Gandalf kind of grandpa? No? Okay. I pursed my lips. I missed my grandpapa...the jokes and witty remarks.
"Nicole," I snapped my head on the sound of my scroll. He tapped on something. "Open your scroll." And I did.
There are information that I don't know of. "I'm giving you your first assignment." He smiled yet nearly possible to miss behind his gray beard. "You are going to give important information to someone outside the poid." Already?
"By myself?" I nervously asked. He laughed. "Goodness no! I'm not that heartless. Clover will go with you...just in case." What was that supposed to mean?
"I have a question if you don't mind that is," I said while looking at the scroll then back at the headmaster. "You will ask anyway even I say no. Do go on."
"What kind do Agents of Phoenix do?" He interlaced his hands and lay them down on the table. "They are the eyes and ears across the poid. We live in both worlds, and that is dangerous. The agents take down any form of threat to this place."
I picture myself doing cool things. I grin excitedly. He shook his head. "But you, you are going to be a jack of all trades agent." Sounds cool to me. Nicole, agent jack of all trades. Woah!
"Means you will have different kinds of cases. That," He points to my scroll. "Is your first mission." I can do this.
He stands up and proudly and exclaimed. "Go forth my child and bring them the special grocery list!" I jumped. "Yeah–wait what?" Did I mishear him right?
"Grocery list?" I repeated like an idiot. He nodded confidently. "You mean that what I'm delivering is just a grocery list?"
"That, my child is a special grocery list that only be bought across the poid! I really liked the facial chemicals that humans called face moisturizer! It makes my face smooth like a baby!" He's hopeless.
I thought it was some cool information like codes and stuff! A human grocery list?! "Why is it like a code or something?"
"Right," It's like he remembered something. "You don't know how to read and write." Freaking yes I can. He waves me off. "I meant the Ginean language."
He thought for a minute. "I'll give the books you need to learn." More books! "How about Nhinx?" I asked.
"My granddaughter can read it as if she grew here. She's a Ginean after all." He said with confidence. "Now go! Make a moment to remember!"
I sigh. " Where's the enthusiasm earlier?" He asked. I pumped my fist disappointedly and let out a weak 'Yeah' before leaving.
