The ticking of the clock is the only thing that breaks the awkward silence in the the room.
"Okay, let's start." Evelyn flip the page of the book infront of her.
We kind of struggle in all of the subject. When I said kind of struggle, I mean really struggle.
The councils came up with the tutoring idea for us to catch up, though they're the one who'll teach us, to avoid questions of the teachers or professors here.
"Let's go with 1st grader level." She said and used her index finger to guide her in reading.
I looked at Nicole finding her staring outside the window. Her gaze was disrupted when Evelyn place the books in our table.
"We'll be having the introduction of what we are." Evelyn anounce.
"They got pictures!" Nicole amazedly flipping the pages.
"Alright. Turn to page 5." Evelyn ordered. We flipped the pages until we came to page 5.
There's a picture of a man and there's some illustration around him. The main elements, and each of them have branches.
"That's mine!" Phyro proudly states as Evelyn write the 'basic information' on the chalk board.
"What are they doing here exactly?" Nicole whispered to me while eyeing the other councils who seated far in the back.
"Frost said the more the merrier," I whispered back. "Though Evelyn said that they could brain storm of what they lack in explaination."
"Get down Phyro." I heared Carter warned.
Evelyn finished writing and turn to look at us. She draw a trace of a man with a circle inside.
"This is our core," She point at the circle. "Our kind can use our gifts because of our core. Which is decided when we're born."
She paused and drew a line from the core and wrote something. "This also pertains to our strength. When we weakened, our core is withering with us. Our life force is also it's life force, because it's part of who we are."
I hear a pen scratching the surface of a paper. Nicole is writing in the book about everything what Evelyn wrote on the board, she even drew the man, though not as accurate as Evelyn's but it'll do.
"We have a notebook Nicole." I whispered. She gave me a thumbs up without looking at me and proceeds to write. "I'm more comfortable learning like this...If I'm learning." She whispered back.
"We are called Aurians. Our core emits a diverent wavelength that cause our aura to be visible. That's why it's easy for us to bend our speciality to do our bidding." She explained. "Aside from Aurians, there are people called Caleons, unlike Aurians, they have a weaker core."
Evelyn put the chalk down and looked at us."They can't manipulate anything with their bare ability, but that doesn't mean they don't have any gift. They are book bound, meaning, they use spells to cast, chant or sing, that are equal to Aurian's gift."
"So it depends on the core, what type you are?" I asked. Evelyn tapped her finger on the podium for a second. "This world is bigger than you think. Not all of us have core. Vampires, Werewolves, Fae, Fairies, Elves, Pixies, etc. They are in a different categories."
"Woa, they exist here too?" Nicole looked at her with wided eye. Evelyn nodded. "They are."
"Cool! Like some fantasy games!" Nicole excitedly held her pen up. " But though, not in a medieval time."
