Charlie's POV

(Shorter chapter)

Walking through the warehouse after another mission Kat had told me to go on while trying to take my kind off Jacob felt numb. The killing of the rapists and pedophiles who deserved it just made me feel numb.

"Charlie what can we do to get your mind off of him." Ben said when Kat had explained how my work has been so sloppy.

"Charlie it's been two weeks." Kat said sitting down next to me. I simply shrugged.

"I'm sorry guys. I'll work better I promise." I said with a soft smile. Ben and Kat looked at me with not believing expressions.

"Charlie you've said that for a week now. If anything your work has gotten even sloppier." Ben said grabbing my hand and locking our fingers.

Kat and Ben have both stayed at the apartment since I had gotten back. The two were extremely mad at Jacob for what he had done but what they don't realize is that this choice wasn't made by just him. It was made by me as well. I could of stayed and tried harder but I didn't.

I kept in contact with Cade, Austin, and Hannah. According to them Jacob isn't doing so hot either. He I guess locks himself in his office and doesn't come out for days in end. He only leaves to eat and use the bathroom before he goes right back in.

Although out of any of us on the first week I believe Cade took it the hardest. According to Austin yesterday was the first day Cade had said anything to Jacob since I left. He was mad at Jacob for what he did but they are family. Cade shouldn't stay mad at Jacob like that.

"Guys I will be okay. This time I'm serious. It just hurt more than I expected it to." I said with a simple shrug. The two eyed me before signing. Ben pulled me into a hug first before he pulled Kat into our hug as well.

"Now tell me all about how your love life's are going!" I exclaimed with a small laugh.

After a while the three of us left my house and began walking the bust streets of New York City. Teenage girls took pictures in front of pupular landmarks as their parents watched with embarrassment. Something about the loud busy streets of New York brough a calmenss over me.

"Charlie!" A voice called. I turned around and smiled when I saw a familiar sey of red locks.

"Hello Victoria!" I lauhed when she basically tackled me into a hug. I almost fell over from the impact but thankfully I didn't fall. She let out a laugh.

"What are you doing here!" I exclaimed pulling away.

"I have another modeling gig. I was just on my way there now before I just happened to run into you." She said with a laugh. After saying that she turned to Ben and Kat and gave them hugs as well.

"Well I have to go now but if you're free like tomorrow we should get some coffee!" She said with a bright smile. I nodded matching her smile. It will be nice to catch up with an old friend.

"See we always run into Victoria at odd times but each time it's quite refreshing honestly." Ben said with a shrug. I hummed I'm agreement as we walked into a random store that Kat wanted to go to.

I sat leaning against the wall with my phone in my hand as the two shopped around. I was obviously bored but that all changed when both Kat and Ben ran over towards me with excited smiles. Oh no. I simply just raised my eyebrows at them.

"Look who is here!" Kat exclaimed pointing behind her. I looked behind her and I froze.

"Hello Charlie." His Australian accent rang through my ears.

"Hello Darren." I spoke softly. He smiled brightly at me which made me want to cringe. He only wants to get in your pants I reminded myself. Ben and Kat ran off again somewhere leaving Darren and I alone.

"How have you been?" He asked me breaking the silence. I sucked in a breath before looking towards him.

"I've been alright. How about you?" I asked pursing my lips. It's not that I don't want to talk to Darren it's just whenever I talk to him I think about what he and I did and that was a mistake. A big mistake.

"I have been good actually. I was sent here last week sometime to gather up some things, I'm leaving tomorrow actually." He explained with a small smile. I gave him a tight lipped smile.

"Hey i know things are a little awkward after those nights we used to have but I am not going to do anything. I would be dumb to mess with Sinclair's girl." He said with a laugh. I pursed my lips again and looked away.

"I'm not his girl." I mumbled playing with my fingers. He turned his head slightly.

"Did something happen between you two?" He asked stuffing his hands in his pockets. I shrugged slightly.

"Yeah but it's not really something I am interested in talking about." I mumbled. He nodded and scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"As much as I would love to stay in chat I must take my leave. I have to go pack for my flight. You take care of yourself Charlie  and I'm always a phone call away if you need me." He said with a dashing smile. I gave him a quick nod before I watched as he left the store and his back got lost between the sea of people.
