Charlie's POV
"You make me sick." I said pressing the gun further into the mans throat. I could feel him gulp.
"I-I didn't mean to do it. I'm sorry." The older man said trying to pull at his restraints. This man is a rapist. We had caught him taking advantage of a drunk sixteen year old in a alley way.
"Bullshit. You knew exactly what you were doing. You're just sorry you got caught. You are a disgusting pig." I said before pulling the trigger. The mans life drained from his eyes. I didn't even care. People like him shouldn't be alive.
I walked out of the warehouse and looked at my friends who sat bored on their phones. We had arrived back in America two weeks ago. I haven't heard much from Jacob. A simple text here and there but it's better than nothing. I meant what I said when I said I wanted to be friends. I missed having our friendship.
I raised my eyebrow at my friends and walked over to them.
"Why can't we ever join in on the fun!" Kat complained.
"Because you are my cousin and if I let anything happen to you your mother will haunt me." I said with a shrug. She let out a small laugh as we all got into our cars.
"That doesn't explain why Gav and I can't help." Ben grumbled from the front seat. I rolled my eyes and shook my head at them.
"Taco bell?" Gavin asked which instantly made my face light up. They all let out a small laugh as we pulled into the drive through. I got my usual and basically ran to sit down in a booth.
I let out a soft moan as the delicious flavors hit my tongue.
"Why can't you make those sounds around me?" A familiar voice said. One thing led to another and I somehow ended up choking on my taco. When I finally regained myself I turned around to see Darren standing there with two other guys. Darren had his eyebrow raised as his friend snickered behind him. Amusement danced in his eyes.
"Dickhead." I mumbled standing up.
"She calls you dickhead?" One of the boys behind laughed. Darren's head snapped around and he glared at the boy making him shut up.
"Why are you in America? Weren't you supposed to be in Australia?" I asked crossing my arms. His eyes followed my movements and landed on my chest, just like the first time we met.
"Eyes up here." I snapped. He gave me a boyish grin. Fucking horny men.
"Well we had some business to take care of and we just happened to stop at Taco Bell. Then there you were, my beautiful fierce kitten." He said pulling me into a big hug. I groaned and tried to pull away from him but he just wouldn't let go.
After he let go of me I jumped away from him as if he were acid.
"Well it was lovely seeing you and all but go back to your own country." I said sitting down and biting my taco.
"No, what she really means is that we would love for you to join us if you'd like." Kat said with a polite smile. I grumbled when they agreed. They left to go get their food and I glared at her. Then I leaned over and smacked her on the head.
"What the hell was that for?" She scolded. I smiled innocently at her.
Darren and his friends came back over and sat down around me due to it was the only seating left. Darren wrapped his arm around the back of my chair and took a bite out his burrito. I scoffed and turned my head away from him.
"Aww kitten. There's no need to be shy. We all know you will fall for my charms soon." He said leaning over and pressing a large wet kiss on my cheek. I squealed slightly and began wiping the spit from my cheek.
"That is never going to happen loverboy." I said looking over at him. He just smiled sweetly.
*************************************
I am going to kill Katherine. All of the boys, Darren, Garrett, and James, his two friends along with my friend group sat in my Livingroom keeping small talk. I was bored and the bored expression was clear on my face.
After we all finished eating Kat suggested we all got to know each other and even when I said no they all went against me. They had followed us in their vehicle.
"Fuck this, I'll be back." I said standing up with a yawn. I walked up stairs to my bedroom and opened the door. I walked in and shut it, only leaving a small crack. I walked over towards my vanity and cringed. I look like I had died.
My eyes scanned over the contents of the desk before they zeroed in on an object. My hand reached out and picked up the small velvet box. With a small breath I opened it and looked down at what sat inside.
The promise ring Jacob had given me and the ring that was his.
Five years ago after I left to go find my cousin I went back to the trashed house. It hadn't been touched since I left. I went back to where I had thrown the rings and snatched them up.
I don't know why I went back for them. I guess I had hope. Hope that Jacob would come back and try to fix things. Every day for a year I looked at the rings. I rarely look at them now, they've been collecting dust for a few years now.
After sobering up the morning after the ball, I instantly regretted what I had told Jacob. I hate him and I hate what he did to me.
Yet a part of what I said was true. I did miss our friendship. I miss what we used to have, but I still hate him for what he did.
"Those are beautiful." I nearly screamed and dropped the box. The rings fell out and onto the hardwood floor.
"Shit." I mumbled leaning down and picking them up. I looked over the rings making sure nothing happened to them. I put them back in the box and set it on the vanity before turning and looking at who scared me. Darren stood there with a curious gaze.
"What are you doing here?" I snapped slightly. He lifted his hands in a surrendering manner.
"Just wanted to see what your bed looked like since I'll be in it soon." He said with a wink trying to lighten the mood. I rolled my eyes and smiled softly at him.
"Come on, let's go back downstairs." He said nodding towards the door.
"Let me change into comfier clothes then I'll be down." I said smiling.
"Can I watch?" He said with a smirk. I scowled at him.
"No get the fuck out." I exclaimed pointing towards my door. He grumbled under his breath before turning around and leaving my room.
"God he's such a pig." I mumbled before locking my bedroom door.
With a final glance towards the box, I changed my clothes and left my room.
