Playing with The Devil *Book 2*

Charlie's POV

   Here is just a small filler chapter about Charlie and Victoria's coffee day. This doesn't affect the story at all so if you don't want to read it then that is fine! It is a short chapter!!

"So you're telling me that you, Victoria, the girl who didn't want to settle down is pregnant?" I questioned with wide eyes. Victoria smiled brightly and nodded quickly. I jumped up and pulled her into my arms hugging her tightly.

"Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you!" I exclaimed happily. She giggled and mumbled out a thank you. Victoria and I had met up this morning for coffee and that leaves us here. We were talking about how our life is going and so she told me about her soon to be baby. She was two months along currently and I guess she still hasn't told very many people, just close friends.

"Well I'm glad you trust me enough to tell me. It's an honor to know." I said with a bright smile which she returned.

"Oh of course. Now tell me, I noticed you were back home, why aren't you with Jacob?" She questioned. I knew the question would come up eventually but I was hoping it wouldn't for a while.

   "Well he hid something from me for a very long time and I found out about and tried to help. He of course being him didn't want to let me help, so I did it on my own. Jacob being him obviously didn't like it and we got into a really bad argument that ended in me going home." I explained. She hummed softly.

   " did it have to do with Cerberus?" Victoria asked. I hummed softly, giving her the answer.

   "That happened back in high school, Jacob was so worried about what was going on that he thought it would be best to keep it from you for your safety. Also back then you weren't a gang leader yet so you didn't really know how to protect yourself." Victoria paused taking a sip of her water.

   "So you knew too?" I asked. She sat her water back down and nodded.

   " I knew but I didn't know exactly what happened. I saw the photos but everything else Jacob kept to himself. You know him always keeping things to himself." She said with a simple shrug. I nodded agreeing.

   "So is there anyone else in the picture?" She asked. I pursed my lips.
My mind instantly shot to Darren and I told myself no. I don't like Darren like that and never will.

  "No there isn't. I am quite busy with gang stuff so boys were never really an option for me. Jacob was different though." I said with a shrug. She nodded.

   "Do you still like him?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. I sighed.

  "Of course I do. I don't think there where ever be a time when I don't like him. Although he is a complete ass 90% of the time I still love him. He may be an ass but he's my ass ya know. He is my soulmate and we both know it. The time and circumstances weren't right. Right person wrong time type of thing." I explained. Victoria nodded agreeing.

   "I believe you two in the end will end up together. You are Charlie and Jacob. The girl who tamed the Devil. You are Mrs. Devil Sinclair. You guys are meant to be." She said with a smile. I pursed my lips, a small smile wanting to push its way onto my lips but I wouldn't let it. I am still quite hesitant and hurt when talking about Jacob.

Victoria picked up on my hesitant state on not wanting to talk about Jacob and we began talking about things that we did in high school.

"oh my, do you remember how on prom day Laura sat on a curling iron and said that her butt didn't get burned because of her butt pads." Victoria said letting out a loud giggle. I followed and laughed loudly.

" or how about when you jinxed me falling downstairs on prom day." I spoke before we both burst out into a fit of giggles again.

  "ahh, High school was such a fun time." Victoria said smiling brightly. I matched her smile and nodded.

   "We 100% need to catch up like this more often. Maybe you can come visit California and you could meet my husband. Also California is warm and the beaches are nice." She said with a laugh. She stood up and I followed her actions.

   "I would love to come visit. I will have to free up some of my time. We will keep in touch about it!" I said pulling her into a hug. She hugged me back before we bid our goodbyes.
