Charlie's POV
"He won't tell me who is after me." I grumbled to Cade, Austin, and Hannah as we all sat in Cade's room doing face masks. I mean you already know I've talked to Ben and Kat about this already. They think it's bullshit and that he should tell me. They believe it would keep my safer if I knew so then I could watch my back. I agree.
"That's so dumb!" Hannah exclaimed. I nodded and let out a huff.
"Austin do you know who is after me?" I asked with hope. Austin scanned my hopeful expression before sighing. He shook his head which made my whole mood drop.
"He wouldn't let me in on that stuff. He wanted to keep me out of it. If I knew I would tell you. You know that." He mumbled truthfully. I sighed and nodded.
The noise of the alarm brought our attentions back to each other. Hannah sat in front of Austin and I sat in front of Cade, all of us ready to start peeling off our masks.
Cade reached over and began yanking the mask off my face. A let out a Yelp of pain as he did it so quickly. He simply just rolled his eyes at me.
Austin with Hannah however was more gentle and did it slowly.
"You see that right there Cade, that's how you were supposed to take it off my face." I said pointing towards Austin and Hannah. His eyes followed me before they rolled again.
"You're a big girl and can handle some pain. You're being a baby." He said with a shrug. Oh I'll show him.
I shot my hand towards his face and caught onto the corner of the mask before giving a harsh tug. Cade let out a very loud and girlish scream as it peeled away from him.
As I finished I smirked at him as he looked at the mask in my hands mortified.
"Who's the baby now." I said with a smirk. His eyes left the mask in my hands and met my face before he looked back down at the mask with wide eyes.
"I am never doing that shit again." Cade said touching his face softly. Hannah and I both let out a small laugh while Austin crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
"Cade you scream like a girl." A new voice said. I looked up and saw jacob standing in the doorway of the room. He wasn't looking at me though and was looking at all of the beauty products we had spread everywhere around Cade's room.
Everything from makeup, face masks, feet masks, eye masks, lip masks, wigs, hair style supplies. You name it, Hannah brought it in here. Her excuse was "you can never be too prepared."
"I don't not scream like a girl!" He exclaimed throwing his arms in the air. I looked over at him and raised an eyebrow at him.
His eyes narrowed at me before he lunged towards me knocking both him and I off of the bed. We both landed on the floor with a loud thud, him lying on top of me.
"You did this! You made me wear that!" He screeched. At this point I was almost rolling around on the ground laughing.
"You guys are like children." Another new voice spoke. I stopped laughing and glared at Amalia.
"Says the one who wailed on the ground like a little baby when I had you pinned against a wall." I said with a very fake smile. Amalia adverted her gaze and shifted uncomfortably.
"Alright kids get up." Jacob spoke pulling Cade off of me. After he was off Cade put his hand out to me. I took it and he pulled me up. Instantly he pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.
"I am sorry for tackling you!" He said pressing a large, wet, and loud kiss to my forehead. I cringed and instantly began rubbing the spot where he kissed.
"Ew! Cade cooties! Charlie I'm sorry!" Hannah said giggling. I hugged and pulled away from Cade and glared at him.
"Charlie can I talk to you?" Jacob spoke softly. I looked over at him and raised my eyebrow. After a second I nodded slowly. He led me out of the room and towards his office. Once we were inside I sat in the chair in front of the desk and he sat in his chair.
"What did you want to talk about?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. He didn't answer but instead studied me.
"I know your mad I didn't tell you." He said after a few moments.
"Didn't tell me what?" I asked acting clueless.
"About who is after you. I'm not dumb Charlie. I am doing this for your safety." He tried to explain.
"Bullshit. You and I both know I can take care of myself. You are just too stubborn to ask for help." I said before huffing. He rolled his eyes.
"That normally would be the case yes but not this time. You don't know who you are messing with and I can't risk you getting hurt." He spoke quietly. I rolled my eyes.
"Did you not hear me. I can take care of myself." I spoke lowly, trying to not leave room for any argument.
"I get that! I know you can but against this group you can't. I have tried to get them to leave us alone but they won't! You aren't helping and I won't tell you who. That is my final decision." He spoke lowly. He gave me a warning look to listen.
I glared at him before standing up. I turned in my heels and began walking out of the room. I was quickly stopped by a hand coming around my wrist.
I was quickly turned around and my lips met his in a rough kiss. My hands reached up and went into his hair. I have it slight tugs making him grunt.
I pulled back to catch a breath but my lips were instantly pulled back to his. The kiss was rough and messy.
After a few more seconds Jacob pulled back and rested his forehead against mine. Our breaths mixed. His was more even while mine was all over the place.
"I'm sorry." He spoke gently pecking my lips softly.
"It's okay." I replied. My eyes were still shut but I could feel his eyes on me.
"I just want to keep you safe." He spoke. His sentence slightly cracking at the end. I nodded and ran my hands through his hair softly.
"I understand. I just want to help you." I mumbled and finally opened my eyes. His eyes were shut tight and his eyebrows were creased.
"I can't let you. I'm sorry." He spoke opening his eyes. His eyes locked with mine.
"I don't like this." I said shaking my head with a small smile. The corners of his lips twitched up."I never said you had to." He said finally smiling. I leaned my head up and gave him a quick peck before turning around and walking away. A stupid smile on my face.
One way or another, whether he likes it or not, I will help Jacob figure out who is after me.
