Charlie's POV

"Be safe." Jacob said holding my face in his hands, a stern look on his face. I tried to smile but since my face was squished in his hands it didn't work out too well.

"She will be fine. Let go of her so we can leave already." Cade said impatiently from the door. Jacob rolled his eyes and completely ignored his cousin.

"Remember if anything happens I am just a call away." He mumbled. I nodded.

"Sir yes sir." I said with a bright smile. He smiled down at me before pressing a kiss to my forehead.

"Have fun!" Austin called out as we exited the house. With a quick wave Cade ushered my to a dark blue car.

"Where are we even going?" I asked as he started driving down the road. He looked over at me and shrugged.

"I don't know. I just wanted to get away from Amalia. She's going to be in the house all day. I know you don't like her and so I was like hey why not invite Charlie. It's a win win for both of us. You get away from her, I get to have someone to hang out with." Cade explained. I nodded and looked out the window.

Cade and I had bickered back in forth just driving around for over an hour. We talked about random stuff. I told him about my mom, it was nice to talk about.

"Are you hungry?" Cade asked. As if on cue my stomach growled which made us both laugh. Cade had pulled into some Italian named building that looked quite cozy.

With a smile he parked the car and we made our way into the building. The diner wasn't full but it wasn't empty. A few families sat in booths around the restaurant.

Cade led us over to a more secluded on that we could look around at everyone in the restaurant. We would make jokes about what people wore and judged. It was quite fun.

A short girl with a waist apron came over, a note pad in her hand. She had short brown hair that only went to about her shoulders.

"Ah if it isn't my beautiful cousin." Oh? Cousin.

"Cade." The girl mumbled out quietly.

"Hannah this is Charlie. Charlie this is Hannah Jacob's younger sister." My jaw dropped slightly and I looked over at her. She looked over at me wide eyed. So she did make it. She fought her cancer.

"You were the girl I hid behind all those years ago. The one who would visit me in my hospital room." I nodded with a smile which made hers grow.

"That's awesome." Hannah said before she took our order. After she left I turned to Cade who looked at me already.

"So you knew Hannah when she was sick?" Cade questioned. I nodded and played with my fingers.

"I'm surprised. Jacob wouldn't let anyone in that room. Not even his own family." Cade said taking a bite out of the pasta he ordered. I twirled around the chicken Alfredo that sat in front of me.

"So about Amalia, why is she so clingy with Jacob?" I questioned taking a drink of water. Cade sat his fork down and wiped his mouth.

"She's always been like that. She is obsessed with him and it's weird. It's like she put this claim on him and no one dared to step up to her. Well that was until you came." Cade spoke which made me nod slowly.

"Were they ever a thing?" I questioned. Cade quickly shook his head.

"She tried so hard to get him to like her but nothing worked. Something else was always on his mind. It was strictly work based for him. Don't worry Charlie, Jacob really likes you. I've never seen him like that before. You are the one." Cade said finishing the last bite of his food. I smiled and shook my head softly.

After we left the restaurant we went to an Italian grocery store. It was a lot like Walmart but a lot bigger. The two of us ran around the store and acted like complete idiots. We saw security guards walking around talking into mics so we had hid in the ball pit. Once they were gone we jumped out with a laugh.

After we left the store we just wandered around for a while. It was nice to be away from the busy streets of New York, although it was still quite busy here. It was also nice hanging out with Cade.

The two of us arrived back at the house with arms full of stuff we had bought. We tumbled into the livingroom laughing, but froze when we saw Austin, Amalia, and Jacob looking at us. I looked over at Cade then looked over at Amalia who was glaring at me.

"What the fuck are you staring at." I barked down at her. Her glare stopped and she looked away, a blush on her cheeks. I rolled away and turned to the stairs and walked away, Cade following behind me.

I sat my bags in my room and jumped onto the bed. Letting out a loud sigh in content. Cade let out a laugh.

"You know, I love with you snap at Amalia. It's hilarious." Cade said before walking out of the room. I laughed and followed him out. He made his way to his room while I was about to go downstairs. I froze halfway down when I heard Amalia talking.

"You guys need to get rid of her." She snapped. I could feel the tension in the room and I wasn't even in there.

"She will be going no where." Austin spoke back. I heard a huff.

"She will just get in the way of our business. I can't have that happen!" Amalia exclaimed, obviously angry. Does she have a death wish for raising her voice at Jacob.

"She isn't going anywhere." Jacob's voice bounced off the walls. The tone had shown no room for arguement which made Amalia huff and stomped out of the room. With a smirk i turned around and made my way back to my room.
