Hello Everyone! I am sorry for taking such a long time to update. I have been in a huge writers block with this story. Along with the fact that I've also had school and had spent time with my family for Thanksgiving. I will try to post more.. I hope you enjoy the chapter!

   Charlie's POV

I sat at my vanity looking at myself in the mirror. A picture of my friends and I from high school was on the mirror in the corner. The girl that I used to be stared back at me. I feel nothing like her anymore. That girl was a crying mess who couldn't handle their emotions.

There was a slight knock on my door bringing me out of my trance. I raised my head as Ben poked his head in. He had an evil look hidden behind his green eyes.

"You know I love you right." He trailed off looking further into my room. I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yes I know. Now what did you do?" I asked. He licked his bottom lip before biting it softly. He opened the door further and brought in a brand new box of cosmic brownies. He really did something bad if he did this.

He slowly sat them on dresser before walking backwards away from me. He rubbed the back of his neck as I gave him a look, saying to continue.

"I may or may have not spoken to Mike.." He said trailing off. I pursed my lips and looked at him with an odd expression.

"So now he and Laura may or may not be coming up here tomorrow." He spoke quietly. My eyes instantly dropped into slits.

"What the hell Ben! I told you to not bring them here to keep them away from this life style." I said standing up and walking over to him. He cowered away from me as I got closer.

"I'm sorry but they really missed you and wanted to see you." He said before turning around and bolting out of my room.

I know what you are thinking. I thought Mike, Laura, and I were all good friends since high school. You are right to a point. When they moved off to Michigan we lost contact for the most part, besides a few phone calls here and there.

After I became the mafia leader I chose against telling them. This life can be dangerous and I don't want them to be drug in it. If they come to New York it's like they will be entering my world. I don't want them getting hurt because of me.

I sighed and walked over to my bed shutting my light off. Tomorrow will certainly be interesting.

  ~The next day~

"Charlie!" Laura screamed running into me, pulling me into a huge hug. Any anger towards Ben bringing then here dissipated by the second.

"Ahh CharChar!" Mike said pealing Laura off of me and hugging me. He lifted me up into the air and spun me around. I let out a laugh and hugged him back.

"We missed you so much!" They both said pulling me into a group hug. I smiled at them and nodded. A lone tear of happiness fell out of my eye.

~Back at the house~

Kat, Gavin, and Ben's boyfriend Ezra all came over. We all sat around the Livingroom catching up, well and for them to get to know each other. Kat and Laura are getting along great. They both have very similar personalities. Bubbly and quite odd.

"There was this one time when Charlie was eight she had gotten out of the bath and she ran around her house naked screaming 'clothes are for humans, I'm an alien that doesn't need clothes!'" Laura exclaimed. My cheeks darkened as my friends laughed. I remember that day quite crystal clear. I ran into a door which made it so my mom could catch me.

"Don't even get me started on Laura. When we were fifteen we played spin the bottle and she sneezed in the boys face that she played with." I said taking a sip of Seagram's in my hand. Laura let out a nervous laugh obviously remembering the time.

I looked around the room to see all of my friends cuddled up with their person. Laura sat in Mikes lap while his arms were wrapped around her protectively. Kat sat with her legs on Gavin while he ran his hand up and down them, in a soothing matter. Ezra had his arm around Ben as Ben was rambling on and on about a story he had.

Then there was me. Cuddled up in a large blanket with a pillow in my lap keeping me comfort. I bit my bottom lip slightly as my mind wondered off.

A slight pang in my heart was evident as I thought about Jacob. I should be mad at him. I should hate him for all the crap he has done to me but I just can't. Some part of me always wants him. That one part of me calls out to him for his comfort. A small part feels empty without him here.

"Hey guys, the drink has really gotten to me so I'm going to head up to bed. There are two bed rooms down the hall that you guys can stay in." I said standing up. They all nodded and gave me a smile. They all said goodnight as I made my way up the stairs.

When I got to my room I sat on my bed and looked out my window. A wave of sadness that I hadn't felt in quite some time washed over me. I love my friends and I love seeing them happy but it made me feel alone. I know I was the one who had pushed Jacob away but I was hurt at the time. I couldn't help it.

I sat there for a few moments before I reached for my phone. It was as if my fingers were in control. Before I even realized I had pressed call.

"Hello?" His voice rang through the phone.

"Please just talk to me. Tell me about your day. I need to hear your voice. I need to know you don't hate me for pushing you away. I need you." I spoke softly getting into my bed.

"I could never hate you Charlie." He trailed off for a second before continuing.

"My day wasn't very eventful. I went to some meetings with Austin. I got mad at one of the guys and flipped over a table. They said I was being ridiculous and boy I could killed the man. He was this small, maybe 5'11 guy that was quite chu-" I cut him off.

"I miss you Jacob." I said. There was silence on his side.

"I miss you too." He said after a few moments. I licked my lips and closed my eyes.

"I can't live without you anymore Jacob. I need you." I spoke into the phone keeping my eyes closed.

"I need you too Charlie. I'm a wreck without you." He spoke lowly, his voice slightly cracking. I smiled softly even though I know he couldn't see me.

"Can you keep talking." I said before letting out a loud yawn. He chuckled softly before talking more about his meeting. I hummed softly every few minutes but sleep called me and I let it consume me, the noise of his voice slowly drowned into just a soft hum in the back of my head.
