Charlie's POV

So it simply has been a long month since I had left the hospital. Since then everything has been oddly too calm. It's weird how calm everything has been.

The only thing that hadn't been calm was March 29th at 5pm. The day set the mood. Rain poured on us and the casket as we all said goodbye to our best friend.

Tears were shed and hearts were hurt. Many mourned over the boy yet very few knew what truly happened to him. The group agreed that it would be better if they all kept that on the down-low.

The hardest part was when everyone began reading their speeches or goodbye letters to him. I don't think I have ever seen Cade cry but he was nearly sobbing. The two had gotten along well and considered each other close friends.

At the funeral

"I met Ben about 6 six years ago when Charlie started living in New York. Him and I instantly became close and we welcomed him into our group with open arms. Ben never failed to put a smile on the faces of those who he loved when they were down. He always knew exactly what you needed to make you happy and he would do anything to make that thing happen. You will be missed greatly Benny boo." Kat spoke sincerely.

"I had met Ben about 7 months ago. I had basically ran away from Italy to go see Charlie and that's where I met Ben. When we first met he was completely wasted and went on and on about Ezra, his amazing boyfriend. Instantly we began taking shots together and we became close very quickly." Cade paused.

"Ben was like a brother to me. I had grown up with a cousin, Jacob, but I had always wanted a brother. Ben was thrown into my life unexpectedly and it was tragic for him to be taken out. He is someone that will never be forgotten. He was a true one and always knew what to say. I'll miss him." Cade spoke softly looking down at his casket.

"Ben was someone I never thought I would find myself being close to. When he first moved to our school I often ignored him. I thought he was just going to be another person to get close to me just to leave. He truly wasn't..."

"... Ben was a very happy person. He had always wanted a smile to be on your face no matter what you were going through. I can't even count the amount of times he would just show up with a cosmic brownie and a chocolate milk shake when he noticed I was feeling down...."

".... Ben was someone that if you met him, you couldn't let go. You just knew that he was meant to be in your life. I didn't trust it at first but now I knew he truly was my friend soulmate. We were meant to become friends that day when we sat under the willow tree at our old high school..."

"...He was someone you could trust with anything and everything. I can truly say that Ben had saved my life. The little ball of sunshine always made my cloudy days a little more sunny. He was my best friend, my brother even. I am going to miss the random days when we would stay up until three in the morning singing Katy Perry songs..."

".... he is probably rolling around in his grave right now saying about how cheesy we all are being and how we should just be getting wasted at a bar instead of having a funeral like this, but that's just who Ben was. He hated dad energy...."

".... Ben will forever be missed by many. He will forever be missed by me and that is just a known fact..." I paused my speech and walked around the podium and walked over towards Ben's casket. I ran my fingers across the wood. A son threatening to escape.

"I love you Ben and when I see you in hell someday you better tell me about everything." I said setting the microphone down onto the stand.

We all watched as the workers slowly lowered his casket into the already dug out grave. Each of his good friends and close family each had a rose held tightly in their hands. One by one each of us threw the rose on top of the casket. Reality hit me finally when the workers began covering the hole with dirt once again.

Jacob instantly picked up on my deepening mood and wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pulling me tightly to him so I cried into his chest.

As the funeral ended I made my way over to Ben's mother. She was hugging goodbye to some of Ben's cousins before she turned to me. She smiled sadly at me before pulling me into a hug.

"Thank you for saying all that you did. He would of appreciated it."  I frowned but hugged her back tightly.

"Of course. Please take care of yourself okay. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to call." I said giving her one last squeeze before pulling back. She smiled softly and nodded at me before hugging the others.

Walking out of the cemetery hurt me a lot. The reality of knowing one of the people you love more than anything is now gone and there is nothing you can do to change that. It hurts, a lot.

With one final glance at the new grave stone that sat up on the hill, and a small wave that wasn't noticeable, I turned around and left with the group.

Here is a random little fantasy part if you wanna read it. I thought it would be kinda cool to add or whatever. It doesn't change the story or anything. It's just simply a little fantasy part.

  Ben's POV

I watched and waved back as the group of my friends slowly walked away from where my body now lay.

"Goodbye guys!" I yelled out to them, even though I knew they couldn't hear me.

"Hey want to go get a beer?" A voice spoke. I looked up to see Luke sitting at the top of the building that sat near the graves. With a smirk I stood up and walked over to him.

"Hell yeah I do." I said making him laugh. He quickly jumped off the building and landed on the ground flawlessly. With smirks on our faces, our heads held high, we finally said goodbye to our past lives and walked towards new beginnings.
