Charlie's POV
Long chapter :)Walking back into Jacob's house I kept my hands behind my back. I knew I couldn't hide what just happened forever but I could honestly hope.
Although all hope drained from my body as Jacob was instantly in front of me as I walked in the door. I was quickly dragged to the kitchen where the others, Amalia, Austin, and Hannah stood. Cade followed behind us silently. I could feel his gaze on my bleeding hand.
"You were gone for quite a while for only going shopping." Austin said with a smirk. My eyes narrowed at him and he raised his arms in surrender. I rolled my eyes.
"So where were you guys?" Hannah asked with a raised eyebrow. My gaze flicked over to Cade to see him looking as white as a ghost. His eyes were cast down at the ground. I rolled my eyes.
"Shopping." I spoke bluntly. Hannah scoffed.
"If you went shopping where is your stuff?" Amalia question. God I hate this bitch. I turned to her with the fakest smile I could muster up.
"Out of all people to question me it won't be you. Mind your own fucking business." I said keeping my fake smile. She just rolled her eyes but kept silent.
"She has a point." Austin pointed out. My glare shifted back over to him and he quickly adverted his gaze.
"If you were shopping why are you acting like you did something guilty." Hannah pointed towards the two of us. I looked over to Cade to see him looking down in shame. Ah honey no, if I'm going down so are you. I quickly elbowed him which made his gaze shift to me.
"Charlie why have you kept you hands behind you this whole time?" Austin questioned curiously. I ran my thumb over the cuts and inwardly wanted throw up from the pain that shot through my hand.
"None of your business Austin." I gritted through my teeth as the pain wouldn't go away. He rolled his eyes. I heard Cade sigh from beside me before I felt a strong grip on my wrist. With a strong tug my bloody and bruised hand came into view. Blood dripped from my hand and dropped to the floor. My head snapped up to Cade. I looked at him with disbelief. He really just exposed me.
"Charlie what the fuck." Jacob spoke for the first time. He shot up from his seat and walked over to me. He tore my wrist from Cade's and replaced it with his hand.
"What the fuck happened?" Jacob snapped at Cade pulling me towards the first aid kit he keeps under the sink. Cade pursed his lips and kept silent.
"Well out with it!" Jacob gritted as he finished wrapping my knuckles up. He pressed a soft kiss to the bandage before pulling me to him. Oh he won't want to hold me like this after he hears what we did today.
"This is something I shouldn't say. This is Charlie's story." He mumbled. I mean he is right but now he is completely throwing me under the bus. Jacob pulled back and looked down at me with a look saying 'explain now.'
"Can we talk alone. Like in your office." I said scratching the back of my neck nervously. Without a reply he grabbed my upper arm and began leading me to his office. Once we were inside he turned to me, ready for an explanation.
"You know the weather today was quite be-" I started trying to get rid of some of the tension in the air. His eyes narrowed slightly.
"Charlie what happened." He spoke lowly, dangerously. I sighed and sat down.
"I went digging to figure out who was after me. You wouldn't tell me so I started digging. With Cade's help we got into your office. I found the room and the box. Cade found a lead on a guy from the gang a few towns over so he told me to go with him." I paused and stared down at my hand.
