After a short drive, we are now headed inside the venue. It is of course, an elegant party. Miguel's parents are way too known in the industry of medicine. That's their biggest asset.
Imagine having all the luxuries in life. But then, sad reality is that when a person becomes rich and richer as times passes by, they become greedier every single day.
Miguel's Dad was also from a family of doctors. His Mom was from a prestigious family of business people. There was a rumor before that his parents wasn't in love for real. The marriage? It was all for the business. But then, it's their life, opinion of other people is irrelevant.
Tyron's beside me informing Nikolai that we are already here. I fixed the curls of my hair.
I saw some familiar faces. Maraming mga businessmen, tycoons and people in the same industry as Miguel's family.
Mayaman ako, my Mom's family is rich. My adoptive Dad's family is richer. But I don't brag about it. That's not mine after all.
"You let her wear that?" I rolled my eyes and just look around us. Some men were looking at me.
"What's wrong with my outfit?" Tanong ko naman kay Nikolai. He just shrugged and lead us the way inside.
A group of men called Nikolai. We stopped and they greeted each other. It turns out, they are some of Tyron and Nikolai's old friends. I forgot to inform Mom that I'm already here so I took out my phone and informed her through text.
Everyone here screams elegance. And in our world, money is the sophistication of elegance. I am not a fan of this kind of gatherings. I'd like to celebrate important occasions of my life with only the people I know and love. Hindi ako lumaking mayaman. I was adopted when I was seven years old. I experienced simple life inside the orphanage. Birthdays, Christmas, New Year lang ang naranasan kong i-celebrate sa loob ng kinalakhan kong lugar.
I still visit the orphanage. Every year, we donate for the children there. It's our way of giving them hope.
"Is that for me?" Tinig mula sa likod ko. It's Miguel with his casual outfit and kinda messy hair but with a style. His look is breathtaking oh my God!
He's a perfect carved man wrapped in a casual majesty.
Ilang beses pa akong lumunok bago makapagsalita. In the end, I just nodded and hand it to him. He didn't even smile or what. The heck, what should I say next? Yeah! I should greet him.
"U-uh happy birthday, y-you look good." Damn it!
I was saved by the bell when my friends came back.
Tyron greeted Miguel and just exchanged some lines which I don't have any idea what is.
"They want to meet you." Ani Tyron sa tabi ko. I looked at their friends just a couple of steps away from us.
"Let's go."
"Uhm, excuse us." He nodded and walked away with my gift. Shit, I just hope he'd like it.
It was announced a while ago that there would be an after party.
