" A drainage ditch? This could be fun. I could try and jump it but if I land and twist my ankle it could be real bad for old man Joestar. And walking all the way over to that bridge is such a bother. I got an idea. Jotaro, ie down across this ditch and make yourself into a bridge. I'll just walk on you to get across. "
Jotaro didn't say anything, he didn't even move. His eyes were starring at the other side of the ditch.
" What now? You don't want to be my bridge or somethin? "
" Shut up. What the hell do you keep yammering about? "
" I said make yourself into a bridge! You good for nothing arrogant prick! "
He raised his leg to hit the pole sticking out of the ground, and he was fast when he swung it, but I was faster. I grabbed his leg before it made contact with the pole and pushed it away.
" Now, there is no need for that. Just calm down, Jotaro will be the bridge. "
" Who are you to tell me to calm down, you bitch. "
He swung his fist at me and I let him hit me. His fist connected with my nose and I felt the blood leave my nose as I fell. I put my hand over my nose and looked back up at him. He only spit on me before Jotaro grabbed his collar. I stood up and grabbed his arm with one hand while the other held my nose.
" Ah, don't look so upset Jotaro. " Dan teased.
I grabbed his chin and turned it towards me. His eyes softened and he let go of Dan. I pulled out a handkerchief and wiped my face free of the blood that dripped from my nose. Jotaro walked to the ditch and crouched in front of it looking at the distance.
" Come on, I don't have all day you know. "
Jotaro placed the tops of his feet flat on the pavement and reached across the ditch and placed his hands flat on the other side. His legs shook a little bit before coming stable.
" Good. "
He stomped on Jotaro's back knee and then on his back. He turned to the side and balanced on one leg and bounced on Jotaro's back. Jotaro was sturdy and stayed up, without his feet or hand sliding off the edge. Dan crossed and stomped on Jotaro's hand and smeared it into the dirt. I could only stare at Jotaro's face while he went through this. He was sweating a little bit and his teeth were grinding. Dan finally got off of Jotaro and looked my way.
" It's time for you to cross sweet thing. If you don't cross the Kujo Bridge remember Mr. Joestar's life is in my hands. "
I rolled my eyes at him and started walked across Jotaro's back. I crossed and leaned down to help Jotaro up from the ditch. I grabbed both of his hands and used my strength to lift him up a little. He let his feet slid off of the other side and he was able to put one of his feet on solid ground and stand from the ditch. I let go of his hands and turned towards Dan.
" You make a nice bridge Jotaro. "
He started walking away but it didn't take long until he stopped and turned back to us.
" Oh, hang on Jotaro. I have a very nasty itch. Scratch it. "
Jotaro walked up to Dan's back and started scratching it. His hand was searching Dan's midback and I could only imagine what Joseph was feeling. Dan stepped away and continued walking. As Jotaro and I walked behind him I looked up at Jotaro and whispered,
" Sorry. "
" Don't apologize for something that was against you. "
We continued walking and I noticed Dan stopped again. This time he looked troubled. Jotaro noticed it too, he had figured out the plan that Kakyoin and Polnareff had to execute. And quickly. We made it further into town before he threw a towel at Jotaro and told him to clean his shoes. Jotaro complied and kneeled down cleaning his shoes. Jotaro was just cleaning when Dan raised his foot up and kicked Jotaro's chin. Making his lower teeth hit his top teeth and blood spew from his mouth. He fell on his back with the rag clutched in his hand.
