Joseph's Attraction

   " Have you heard of the tomb of the great King Tutankhamen? It lies here in the Valley of Kings. " Avdol said looking out into the valley.

We were on the West part of the Nile where kings were laid to rest. I stood with Jotaro, Polnareff, and Avdol looking around. Joseph was nowhere to be seen and I had no idea which way he had went. 

   " Wow, this place is full of history. " Polnareff said looking towards the direction Avdol was looking at. 

   " If what I've heard is true. Some of the residents in this area still dig beneath their houses for treasure without permission form the government. "

   " Think those acient guys left behind some undiscovered treasure? "

   " Egyptians did bury them with nothing and their caskets were made from expensive materials. So they might be digging for caskets. " In included. 

   " Gross, who would want to dig up a body!? " Polnareff yelled.

   " A lot of people actually. If they find a casket they could get a fortune for discovering it. There are some dead bodies that we haven't found in years and some that are worth trillions to find because of who they were in ancient times. "

   " Hey, did anyone see where the old man ran off to? " Jotaro finally spoke.

   " Oh, yes, to the bathroom and he took Iggy since he can detect enemies. " Avdol replied. 

   " Oh really? " Polnareff asked looking at Avdol with a little hope in his eyes.

   " What? Do you need to go? "

   " I might if it's a normal bathroom. "

   " Polnareff this is normal . . . to them at least. "

   " I'll wait until we get to the hotel. "

   " And this is what we call 'pulling a Polnareff'. " I said whispering to Jotaro. 

   " I'm going to look for Mr. Joestar. " 

Avdol walked away from the group and I stayed with Jotaro and Polnareff. I looked at Jotaro and wondered how he could stand the heat in his coat. 

   ' He has worn that on the entire trip. Even on the stand Strength he didn't take it off. '

When Avdol returned with Joseph we left the valley and traveled into town. There were a lot of people but we were able to make it through and get to a place to eat. Joseph said he would pay and got everyone a soda, but I noticed Jotaro wasn't sitting with anyone. He was standing on the edge of the restaurant and looking out at the water. 

   ' I should check up on him. '

I stood up from my chair and walked to Jotaro. The radio inside the shop wasn't playing anything and was just static. 

   " I just bought this! "

   ' That's a little weird. He just bought it and it decides not to work. Hmm, maybe he was just ripped off. It's none of my business. '

I walked up to Jotaro's side and stood beside him. The water was sparkling with the sun beating down on it. Jotaro ade no movement to signal he acknowledged my presence but I knew that he could sense me beside him. 

   " What are you thinking about JoJo? "

   " None of your business. "

   " Not the answer I was looking for. Tell me, you have no reason to not tell me. "

   " I do. "

   " Oh? Then what is that reason? "

   " It's my damn business not yours. "

   " It's about your mom. Isn't it? "

   " No, not at the moment. "

   " Then what is it? "

   " It's about Cairo. "

I felt my body tense up at the word, but I sighed and placed a hand on his arm since I couldn't reach his shoulder. 

   " Look, I know that when we get there things will be even harder than fighting regular stand users. You just need to keep a cool head and don't listen to anything Dio says. He's a smooth talker. He knows exactly what to say to get the reaction he wants out of you-"

   " That's not why I'm thinking about Cairo. "

   " Then, why? "

   " I'm thinking about you. When we get there no count Dio will go for you first. He wants the Joestar bloodline dad but it's stupid to think that's the first thing he wants. The first thing he'll get is you and then kill everyone. I'm thinking about how to fight him and protect you. "

   " Don't worry about protecting me. Just worry about killing him. "

   " I'm not leaving you along for one second while we're in Cairo. I'm not going to give him any chances to take you. "

   " Jotaro I understand that you want to protect me but trust me. I will fight him and he won't be able to lay a finger on me. "

   " I'm worried because we don't know his stand. He has the upper hand on all of us, especially you since he has an emotional cord to pull. "

   " Jotaro look at me. "

I looked up at him and he reluctantly turned his head towards me. His ocean-like eyes gazed right into my E/c eyes and I felt my heart rate increase. 

   " I will be okay. Just focus on killing him. "

   " I'm your protector. I'm not going to let you get hurt. "

   " That's supposed to be my line you idiot. "

   " You didn't say it fast enough. It's your fault. "

   " Hey, love birds! Let's geet going! " Polnareff yelled at us. 

I rolled my eyes and turned away from the water. I walked beside JoJo to the group and we walked away from the shop. We walked down the road and passed by a man working on a box. I didn't pay it much mind as we walked by.

   ' Wait what are those on Joseph's back? '

I looked closer and realized that they were the metal tops to the coke bottles we were drinking out of. I reached my hand to peel one of but it stuck to him like a magnet.

   " That's weird. "

   " What the . . . why's the hammer suddenly s heavy? I can't-"

   " Sir are you okay? "

The man looked up to me and he was holding his other arm with the hammer in his grip. It's like he was trying to hold the hammer back from going somewhere. 

   " T-The nails . . . "

I could see the nails between his teeth go further into his mouth and poke his cheek. I reached my hand down and grabbed the flat ends and tried pulling them out of his mouth. When I pulled they wouldn't come the way I pulled them. They went to his cheek. 

   " What the hell? "

I let go of the nails to get a better grip but they instantly flew through the man's cheek. He screamed and let of the hammer and it flew towards Joseph. I placed my hand on the man's cheek and healed the wound. Avdol caught the hammer and he turned towards me and the man with Polnareff also turning.

   " Everything okay over there, mon cheri? "

   " Yeah, sorry he hit his thumb and he flung the hammer on accident. "

   " Be more careful, geez. "

When the man was healed I walked away and went back towards the group.

   ' Weird. '
