I stepped off the train and set my feet on the Cairo train station platform. Everyone joined me and stepped out of the train. Iggy just walked out and sat on the ground, lazily looking around.
" We finally made it to Cairo. " I said, stretching my limbs.
" Even though it's great we made it, Cairo is a vast country. It's in our best interest to systematically search the city, working our way to the center. " Avdol said holding up the picture of the mansion.
" Let's start then. " I said.
We left the train station and grabbed a rental car. Joseph drove us towards the city and we got out and started asking people if they had ever seen the mansion in the photo. No one seemed to know where the place was or they didn't recognize the structure. I could feel my heart drop after the fifth person told us they had never seen the home in the picture. It was important that we find Dio as fast as possible because of the sunlight. Dio was vulnerable in the sun, but when it turned from Hamon loving sunlight to darkness, we would be the vulnerable ones.
' No doubt, he knows we're here. So, if we don't find the mansion by nightfall we won't get any sleep tonight and we can't leave each other's side. '
We walked into one restaurant and walked to the bar. All of the guys looked intimidating to the man, but he didn't take the intimidation. Joseph showed him the photos and I could already predict his response.
' He's going to say no. '
" I'm sorry stranger, but this is a cafe. You should order a drink before asking questions. " The man said and gestured to the bottles behind him.
" The ice teas, five of them. "
Avdol pulled five coins out of his robes and set them on the counter. The man grabbed four glasses and started filling them with ice and tea. He grabbed the photo with his other hand and pulled it closer towards him. He looked at it for a moment before humming his response.
" Never seen the place. "
The four men beside me took their glasses of iced tea and gulped it down, without taking a breath. I pushed mine aside, feeling sick. They set their glasses down and Joseph was the first to leave the bar. Avdol followed him while Polnareff grabbed my ice tea and drank it.
" Not thirsty? " JoJo asked.
" I just don't feel right. "
" Hmm? "
" I have a bad feeling. I don't know, but my stomach is just telling me that something is going to happen, and it's making me feel sick. "
" Are you sick? "
" Not that I'm aware of. And I feel fine. "
That was a lie. Your stomach felt numb and you could feel a fever coming but disregarded it as the heat in the atmosphere.
" Are you sure? You're a little pale. "
" Yeah, don't worry about me. "
JoJo walked with me away from the bar and we joined the others. No one in the building knew where the mansion was so we decided to leave.
" I happen to know where your little building is located. " A newcomer's voice said, making us stop from leaving.
We all turned and looked towards the man who spoke up. He was formally dressed and sitting at a poker table. In his hands were cards that he was shuffling.
" To be honest with you, I'm quite familiar with it. "
Joseph left the group and started walking closer to the man. I followed him, with my heart racing a little.
