*Alexander's POV*
Jenny stood there with her once long blonde hair cut to reach her shoulders. Her blue eyes were narrowed and her thin lips were stretched out into a tight smile. She was still extremely short at 5'3 compared to Andrea's 5'8 frame. Her pale skin was still the same, but now her cheeks and the tip of her nose held a red tint due to the chilly air.
"Well, are we going to get off or are you going to continue to make this ten times more awkward?" Andrea whispered from the driver's seat and her voice held irritation.
"Sorry, I don't know why she's here. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable," I explained.
"Why would I feel uncomfortable? It's not like we're dating. You're just my friend. I said you were the one making it awkward because we're just sitting here staring and they are waiting for us to get out." Just like that she shut down her emotions, like all the time we spent together meant nothing.
"Right, well let's not keep them waiting any longer," I grumbled before I got out so that I could open the door for her. Even though I was mad at her reaction, I wasn't going to stop being the gentleman my father taught me to be.
"Thank you," she replied when I helped her out. As we walked up the driveway, there was about a foot's distance between us which was unusual because we always stick together. The distance between us seemed to be noticed by Jenny because her face turned from suspicious to relieved, so I quickly grabbed Andrea's hand and intertwined our fingers together. That wiped the satisfied smirk off of Jenny's face really quickly.
Andrea threw me a questioning look, but masked it well with the smile that was on her face. She gave my hand a playful squeeze and that relaxed me.
We reached the porch and my parents were the first ones to grab me and give me a hug.
"I missed you guys too," I laughed as they both held on tightly to me. They stepped back and their gaze landed on Andrea. Andrea's grin widened when she realized that they hadn't recognized her.
"And who would this young lady be?" My dad asked as he looked down at our joined hands. He and my mother have always liked Andrea, but they haven't seen her in so long. They had liked Jenny and I'm pretty sure my mom was the one who invited her over. They hadn't liked that I broke up with her because they thought that she was a good influence on me, but in actuality I thought she was the one that usually brought down my mood.
"Yeah, who is this surprise that you didn't mention?" Derrick called over with a smug smile on his face as he looked from Andrea to Jenny. I sent him a glare and that seemed to amuse him more.
Before I could reply to Derrick and my father, Andrea beat me to it.
"You don't remember me Alex and Abigail? Surely it's been awhile, but I practically lived with you guys some of the time when I was younger," Andrea informed them mockingly. A spark of recognition alighted in both of my parents eyes at the same time.
"Andrea?! Is that really you, sweetheart?" My mother asked as she came closer.
"The one and only," was Andrea's reply. My mother held out her arms and Andrea hugged her back. My mother's grip was so tight I was starting to worry that she was going to break Andrea.
"My, you grew up to be a beautiful young lady," my dad commented as he reached to give her a hug. Andrea laughed as she hugged him back and as my dad hugged her he gave me an impressed look over her shoulder. I just smiled at him; no doubt he was thinking that she was my girlfriend now. Soon enough, I hope.
"You guys know her?" Jenny asked my parents. Her face kept on falling. She probably thought she could come here and talk me into getting back together.
